The area is a walker’s paradise, with trails leading from the doorstep across low fells and secluded valleys, including parts of the renowned Coast to Coast path. Cyclists will love the quiet country lanes, while nearby Smardale Nature Reserve and Sunbiggin Tarn are havens for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts.
