BEST LOCATION FOR FALASARNA, KISSAMOS, KALYVANI
We had a fantastic stay at Sunny Villa. Sani was absolutely wonderful, the best host ever. She greeted us so warmly and the villa was SO well equipped with everything we could possibly need! Dishwasher, washing machine, beach towels, umbrellas and beach chairs, brochures of tours and attractions. The kitchen had so many staples — coffee, teas, an espresso machine, coffee filters, pasta, rice, spices and olive oils, paper goods, trash bags, just about everything needed.
Loved the bathroom upstairs, it was luxurious. Comfortable bedding and so much space to spread out! Ample closets and storage areas and a beautiful view to the ocean and surrounding hills. The villa is located next to a beautiful church and on a private non-paved road which leads to a small brook and waterfall; at the far end is another small village.
The villa is quite secured, has a locked gate, window covers and also window grilles which can be closed and locked; a small parking lot not far from the villa, a large outdoor space with table, chairs and lots of plants, including an enormous rosemary tree! Upstairs the terrace has a magnificent view, lots of soft seating for relaxing and enjoying the view and a laundry drying rack which came in very handy.
The location is amazing ... a short walk to the village and 12 minutes (as she told me before we arrived) to the amazing Falasarna Beach. Nearby is the bustling Kissamos — a bit of a nightmare to walk around, cars are parked everywhere so be careful walking around! However, the village has just about everything one needs, including several supermarkets SYNKA is our favorite; lots of specialty stores, restaurants, bakeries, tavernas, souvenir and other shops and also nearby is Zerviana which has a wonderful bakery with amazing espresso fredos and confections, wonderful breads, meat and cheese pies and a friendly staff.
This is a terrific villa, especially for a small family. We enjoyed its ideal location, the fact it was so close to Falasarna and Kalyvani, where there are so many wonderful restaurants — Gramboussa, Kampanari and others, It is also near the departure point for Balos Lagoon cruises in the port at Kasteli.
Villa Sunny offered us 9 SUNNY days and delightful nights, a smart TV filled our evenings with Netflix and Amazon movies, and it was incredibly peaceful! I would highly recommend Villa Sunny as a perfect spot for exploring western Crete and especially Falasarna, the Kissamos area and 30-40 minutes to Chania!
