Poor Property Management Ruined the Experience
In short, I won’t rent here again, nor do I recommend it.
The pros: Clean, some games & books, kitchen well stocked. Great beach supplies, location & pool.
The cons: fob to pool didn’t work, this issue was never resolved. Lanai furniture is so rusted some chair legs have crumbled apart. Many windows would not lock - being a 1st floor unit & having small kids this was a major security issue.
I brought this to Stephen; in summary he said, ‘the island is safe, most people leave windows open. I’m planning to replace them for aesthetic reasons not security concerns. If you’re concerned I’ll refund you to stay elsewhere.’ Finding a new place sounded massively inconvenient but having functional windows & a secure unit is of the utmost importance. I asked him to clarify what he would refund (assuming full refund minus cleaning fee since finding another place last minute would be expensive & the unit did not meet a basic/necessary requirement of being secured). He responded saying the on island reps would come by with window locks.
Not until a plumbing issue upstairs (not his fault) did he make good on his offer to refund our remaining 4 nights. I asked for a 5-night refund since the leak kept us up late & kept my husband & I from plans to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The refund came through amounting to 4.7 nights.
Overall, unit is fine (assuming windows & lanai furniture get replaced), I’m sure the many great reviews come from people who didn’t have to resolve any issues.
