Beautiful condo, but our stay was rocky at best. We had trouble with the door code on arrival and it took a long time and some degree of frustration to finally solve the problem. The after hours emergency people were easy to work with, but it took a bit of doing to find the right number. Once we finally accessed our condo, the upstairs neighbor made sleep an impossibility because he or she stomped around seemingly all night. It was so miserable that we ended up leaving the accomodations early. The Ocean Dunes amenities (pool, gym, etc) were a bonus, but the outdoor pool was closed and I was slightly injured in the gym when the cable on one of the machines broke. Apparently this is an ongoing issue with those machines, but there was no sign warning of such. I appreciated the playground for my kids, but th tennis courts, etc. are dilapidated and in need of updating. Overall, I was disappointed with Ocean Dunes. I will say that the customer service for Carolina Retreat was absolutely top notch. I absolutely recommend renting with Carolina Retreat, but this particular location was a bust.

After a small issue with the mis-advertised condo, we were able to settle into an appropriate unit. The unit had been recently refurbished quite nicely. Supplied very well. Super clean and airy & spacious. Would highly recommend this property & the leasing agents.

Summer Vacation

We rent a condo in the Kure Beach area every year and this is by far the nicest property we've stayed in. It's close to the pool and a short walk to the beach. It's furnished very tastefully. The guest bath has a shower rather than a tub, which is a plus for us. Very clean.

Nice condo near the beach

This condo more than met our needs for a quick trip to the beach. It is a quick walk to the beach and very near a state park which is beautiful. The condo itself was clean and neat with somewhat dated but functional kitchen and bathrooms. The beds were comfy and the deck off the living room is a nice place to have coffee in the morning. The indoor pool was very nice but the outdoor tennis courts and basketball court are in need of serious maintenance. The parking was convenient and the towns of Kure Beach and Carolina Beach had plenty to offer in terms of restaurants and recreation. I would also recommend a visit to Fort Fisher and a ferry ride to Southport.
