Panoramic Fjord Views in Modern Kvivik House

Summary:

A bright, modern house on the hillside above Kvívík, with the fjord and mountains filling every window. Three bedrooms and two full bathrooms sleep six — room for two families or a group travelling together. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area opens onto a covered deck that wraps around the house. Twenty-five minutes from both Tórshavn and the airport, so the whole country is within easy reach, yet the village itself stays quiet.



The Space:

Single-storey and open-plan. The kitchen has a large island, induction hob, oven and dishwasher, and flows into a dining table seating six and a living area with sofas and a TV. Picture windows run the length of the fjord side, so the view follows you through the room. The bedrooms are quiet, with light oak floors, blackout blinds and doors opening straight onto the deck. Three bedrooms: one with a queen bed, two with double beds, all with light oak floors and blackout blinds. Two full bathrooms.



Guest Access:

Guests have the house, the deck, the garden and the driveway to themselves. Check-in is self-service using the key safe by the front door — we send the code before you arrive, so you can come and go on your own schedule. We're reachable by message throughout your stay.



The Neighborhood:

Kvívík sits in a valley on the west coast of Streymoy, looking out over the sound towards the uninhabited island of Koltur. Turf-roofed houses, a white church by the water, and a river running off the mountain past the house down to the sea. The village has Viking-age longhouse ruins by the river mouth. It's a working village rather than a resort — evenings are quiet and footpaths lead straight up into the hills.



Getting Around:

A car is the easiest way to get around, and there's parking beside the house. Kvívík is on the main road between Tórshavn and Vágar airport — about 25 minutes to either, with the subsea tunnel to Vágar just west of the village. Most of the islands are a comfortable day trip. Buses on the Tórshavn–Sørvágur route stop in Kvívík several times a day, fewer at weekends, so check the SSL timetable if you're not driving.
