Hop Inn is in a nice, quiet spot but still super close to the train and bus stations. Our room was really spacious and had a cute balcony that was perfect for stargazing and just chilling out at night. I loved that the toilet, powder room, and bath were all in separate spaces. There’s tons to do around here, and it's an easy walk to Nishiki Market and the shopping malls.

Basic hotel that is a good option in terms of value for money in Kyoto. Free coffee in reception. However, public transport is the best option to get to most sightseeing spots from the hotel, as it's quite a walk out of the centre.

Nice location, beautiful area to walk around and lots of places to eat in the area but still fairly quiet. Room was very small which we expected. But it was challenging to get in and out of our suitcases. Everyone was so helpful and patient for our first night in Japan!

The room and bathroom was on the larger side (by japan standards, from what I’ve seen). The twin bed in tatami room was actually two separate beds separated by a gap. Perhaps this was already specified, and we just missed that! Breakfast is buffet style and a separate charge (I think around 1000 yen) alternating between western and Japanese style. All in all, great value and quality stay at a convenient location.

We had a great stay at Hopp Inn Kyoto. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtfully designed rooms that made our stay easy and relaxing. The location is excellent—close to public transportation and within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, making it a perfect base for exploring Kyoto. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always welcoming us with warmth and great recommendations. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto.

Aircon unit had a bad smell when turned on so we didnt use it. The fridge has a very noisy buzz sometimes. Since the room is very small, these problems made it hot and noisy and we had trouble sleeping. On the plus side, its in a good location and the onsen was a bonus. Staff were friendly and could communicate in english
