Great for 5 adults to enjoy the Japanese futon beds and home. One western queen, 3 futon beds, 2 baths, kitchen, washer/dryer combo (which I did not like as the drying made everything wrinkled as if drying clothes after a wash spin cycle and took over 3 hours). Would like to have a drying rack or hangers to dry the clothes. Western bedroom had locks on the closet so no way to hang anything and no place for putting away clothes so we left them in open suitcases. 1st floor single futon room had japanese screens. Can hear everything in the house, Japanese thin paper walls. Soap, Shampoo, conditioner, coffee provided. Nearby Fresco grocery store, close to buses, walkable 10 min to train or 18 min to Kyoto station.

We loved this place. It is very comfortable with different living spaces. We traveled with our teenage sons and we could all have our own space. It also has a small zen garden, very cute. The area is super quiet, low buildings, very nice to walk around, great dining options and two big temples that we did not get the change to visit. Only cons would be: I wish there was a place to hang the clothes after washing them. We used the dryer but it’s not a tumble dryer and the clothes were super wrinkly. Also, I am not sure it’s a good option for a family with toddlers, because of the stairs and the “inside balcony” in the second floor. But if you are not traveling with toddlers, amazing option.
