The room was very nice. Unfortunately, the bed was really hard. It really is a beautiful hotel. The grounds are well taken care of and the landscaping is gorgeous. The complimentary breakfast was really good too.

I have stayed at this location multiple times over the last 20 years, at least twice a year. The Laguna Hills Lodge has changed ownership over the last few months, and I must say that it is definitely not the same. The outdoor landscaping has been neglected, the staff at the front desk were not nearly as friendly as the people who were there previously, and who knew me by name when I checked in. There was no information given regarding continental breakfast, I don’t even know if that was a thing anymore and the placard in the room giving the Wi-Fi code was dated and incorrect information listed. I called the front desk to get the correct information. There was a sign to please turn keys in when checking out which I did and the gentleman who was at the front desk didn’t say good morning, how was your stay, nothing I was very disappointed with the new operations. This used to be my very favorite place to stay because of the feeling of being in a resort instead of a hotel, but my mind has been changed. Not sure if this will be my next vacation itinerary or not. As I said, I stay regularly at least twice a year

Some good, some not so good

I have stayed here each year for about the last 5 years. Apparently under new ownership. While the breakfast has been very improved to include some hot items, the rooms are looking very tired. They could use paint and new carpet. Also, sheets were very scratchy. Had to cover pillow with a tshirt or the pillow irritated my skin!

I did not stay after I saw and smelled the condition of the room. The heavy cigarette smoke was unbearable. I also asked for a refund and have not received one.
