If I was rating this hotel in comparison to others in the area it would get 4 stars. The overall quality of Princeton NJ hotels in this class leaves a lot to be desired. The positives: staff was friendly & helpful, hotel is newish & clean, room was big with an excellent kitchen. There’s also a big laundry room which is helpful if you’re in a long road trip. Free coffee 24/7 was a nice bonus too. The negatives: the hotel is adjacent to a noisy road. The actual road noise in the room wasn’t too bad but every time a large truck went by the building shook. I thought there was an earthquake at 5:30am! Maybe this is because we were on the 3rd floor. But still, it was unsettling. And from 5:30-8pm the trucks kept coming. Also, for most of our stay there were a couple of people hanging out right outside the front door. One woman was either high as a kite or mentally ill (or both.) I realized after we checked in that this is also a short term rental property so maybe they “lived” in the building. It didn’t feel unsafe exactly but hotel management didn’t seem to have any problem with the vibe. Also, hotels with similar price points offer breakfast.. I didn’t mind because I’m not a big fan of most free hotel breakfast but still. All in all, we managed to sleep through the rumbling and the hotel served our needs. I might even stay there again when I’m in the area if I can’t find something better.

My stay here at candlewood was great but the only thing that bothered us was feeling the building shake throughout the night. Other than that my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay & will continue to book again

Nice safe location. New hotel, very clean. Beds great. Lots of space. Would have been nice to have a chair rather then such a big kitchen. We were there for a lacrosse tournament and would stay there again. Solid 4.5 rating

The room was well thought out with enough space for a family of 4. Free laundry, coffee, and gym inclusive 24hr. Very nice sized wall mounted TV and full sized refrigerator with freezer. Silverware included in the kitchen with dishwasher. The only thing that was slightly inconvenient was the bathroom sensor light shutting off while taking a shower. Very satisfactory overall!
