Very small room and bathroom. There is no reception at the hotel. You have to walk up stairs to a sister hotel to check in and then back down stairs with your luggage. Had to then walk up 4 flights of steep stairs with luggage. The entrance smells really bad because of fish cooking in restaurant.

Beautiful room with lots of steps to get there

Very nice room with amazing views but they need to be up front that you park 1.50 miles away, take a tram/bus and the tram drops you off about 200 yards from the base of the Abbey, you then have to drag your luggage unassisted up 100’s of stairs to get to your room so be prepared. Notwithstanding this, the room had amazing views and staying on the island is very intimate and you are able to explore without many crowds. Also the food and service e at La Mère Poulard restaurant was top notch!

I stayed in the mother poulard room and it was fantastic, clean, comfortable and looked like it just been remodeled ! The view from the room was great too ! Staying on the island is definitely the way to do it it’s like you have the whole place to yourself after all the day tourist leave! The staff was extremely helpful! And there is all kinds of dining and shopping options right down the stairs! Which if you have any mobility issues , this is not the place for you though !

Magical location, couldn’t be more centrally located! Rooms were sparsely decorated, but absolutely huge for Europe! Breakfast was divine – way more than just a few croissants & yogurt. Very easy luggage storage before check-in and after check out, as well.

There are a lot of stairs to the annex and a lot of stairs to my room. it is understandable given it is in Mont St. Michel but someone people couldn't do that climb with luggage.

This is an average hotel that's worth staying in for the experience of being able to spend the night on Mont-Saint-Michel. The view from our room was lovely, the staff was friendly, and the accommodations were clean. The included breakfast was nice, too. But the double bed was quite uncomfortable (saggy in the middle), the decor was drab, and the bathroom dated. We didn't sleep well, but we still enjoyed the experience of spending the night on the Mont.

My daughter and I greatly enjoyed our recent overnight stay at La Mere Poulard. The current renovations did lend to a less-than-ideal level of cleanliness and noise, and the buildings are definitely in need of them. Despite this, however, it was hard to be upset in such a historic and beautiful place! Breakfast was delightful. We would definitely stay again- and highly recommend a meal at the restaurant!

The room was quite comfortable and our view was great! We were on the third floor with 80 stairs, but adjusted. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was just right! I wish we had eaten dinner in the restaurant!
