Casa Vela House… a spectacular destination!

Casa Vela Guesthouse was a wonderful place to stay… it was beyond our expectations! The grounds and landscaping are spectacular, and it feels like a such a calm escape, yet walking distance to the historic part of town. The staff are very friendly and helpful… special shoutout to André and Tania! It is a special place, and I would love to return someday!

Vegan influencers portrayed this hotel as a vegan hotel, but it is not. You need to call in advance and inform them of your dietary restrictions so they can prepare meals. My VIP access on the website said I had breakfast included, but it wasn't reflected on their end - which didn't matter at this point because of my dietary needs (I have my own food just in case something like this happens). The property is gorgeous. The sauna is amazing. I highly recommend the massage as well - but bring cash because it's cash only. The staff is really friendly and helpful.

Really lovely base to stay in Cascais.

We booked a superior double room with balcony. The room was pleasant however had wasted space that could have been utilised for a little more storage. We were there for 5 nights and felt like we had to live out of our suitcases , a drawer for underwear etc would have been appreciated. Balcony very small and overgrown with greenery. However in a great location , spotlessly clean and lovely staff , great WiFi . Breakfast was good and the gardens are beautiful. It really was a lovely oasis and the pool was great - however no indication of depths. 10 minute walk into Cascais and all it had to offer.

First family holiday abroad.

We were visiting Casa Vela for the fourth time. The previous trips being in 2012, 2014, and 2016 as a couple. This time we brought our two boys, 8yo and 5yo. They had an absolute ball - loved their room and the two swimming pools available. The location is ideal, far enough away from the town centre to be peaceful but close enough for the boys to walk to and from the beaches. Visiting as a family showed different areas of Cascais that we weren't away of before and there was a couple of beautiful parks both 5 mins away. Each with an adventure play park. We will be definitely looking to come back again. Hopefully a lot sooner than the previous gap.

We had an amazing 3 night break at Casa Vela and would highly recommend. Excellent location - approx 10 min to walk to downtown Cascais. The studio was very clean (and cleaned every day) and private. The staff team were lovely and very helpful. We plan to return again next summer. The only minor downside was that the kitchenette had very little in the way of utensils (basic pots and pans, cutlery and sharp knives only) there were no cloths to wipe the surfaces and no condiments (salt/pepper/olive oil) Nonetheless this in no way detracted from the beautiful setting! Thank you Milene and team :-)
