Very charming lay out with a lot of greenery. Dining and breakfast areas and menu were compelling to stay in. A 5 minute walk to sandy beaches with the water much warmer than the Algarve, due to "the current" according to the locals. We will book again.

Everyone was so friendly, and a joy to be around. All the staff was amazing. I loved that a member of your staff got our rental car. Everyone at Solar was really amazing and incredible and made our journey in Portugal start and end on a fantastic note. On balance it was good stay, really welcoming and helpful reception staff. Lovely outside space. Very clean everywhere and big rooms. I think it could do with some modernising in places and some nicer bathroom products would make a difference.

A fantastic stay in a wonderful location with lots of outstanding restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Special mention to Helder and Jorge on reception who couldn't do enough for us and went above and beyond helping us.

Hotel was very nice but have two complaints. The breakfast was only ok. The bacon tray was always empty. Other hotels had much better breakfasts - esp for the price. WIFI reception in the bedroom of our suite was terrible and dropped continuously.

Glad we decided to go for it!

The photos on Hotels.com don't do this property any justice, whilst it looks pleasant enough we booked it expecting it to be a bit dated and for the pool area to pretty much be just a splash pool but were prepared to accept that as it was in an area that we wanted to be near, cleaniness and service is more important than decor and the price was great compared to everything else round about but we were really pleased on arrival as the hotel is lovely! Its a beautiful building, the rooms are huge and the staff were great! Yes it could do with a bit of modernisation, especially the bathroom and the air con but it was clean, comfortable and the pool area is a great wee space to chill out and the breakfast was ideal to set you up for the day. It is located about 30 mins drive to Lisbon city and about 20 mins from the town of Cascais (which is well worth a visit), there are 2 train stations near the hotel which give you access to many of the towns nearby. Would def stay here again if we ever go back to this area of Portugal.
