Bold, atmospheric, and richly textured, The Hemingway Spa Suite is a distinctive king suite located in the Carriage House at The Empress of Little Rock, Arkansas’ only Michelin-Key hotel and a celebrated AAA Four-Diamond property. Inspired by the spirit of the 1940s and the rugged elegance associated with Ernest Hemingway, this suite blends masculine design with indulgent spa comfort in a setting that feels both adventurous and refined.
Set apart from the main house, the Carriage House offers a quieter, more private experience while remaining fully connected to the historic grounds and gardens. The Hemingway Spa Suite is ideal for guests drawn to character, warmth, and a sense of escape that feels immersive and slightly daring.
The Suite
The space is defined by a vaulted ceiling with rough-hewn wooden beams, creating an immediate sense of scale and drama. Light filters through gothic-style windows, casting a soft glow that enhances the suite’s layered textures and deep, earthy tones. Bamboo accents and masculine wood furnishings evoke a world of travel, storytelling, and creative retreat.
At the center of the suite is a king-sized featherbed, offering comfort and simplicity beneath the soaring ceiling. A fireplace anchors the living area, adding warmth and atmosphere throughout the day and evening. The separate sitting area features an overstuffed couch and a lounging chair, providing ample space to read, relax, or unwind after a day exploring the city.
French doors open to a garden-facing balcony, allowing fresh air and greenery to become part of the experience. The suite’s layout encourages guests to linger, settle in, and enjoy the space at an unhurried pace.
Spa Bath Experience
The Hemingway Spa Suite offers a true spa retreat within the room. The bath includes a Jacuzzi soaking tub for relaxation and a steam shower designed to restore and rejuvenate. Within the shower, a dedicated footbath adds an extra layer of comfort and care, making the bath experience both distinctive and indulgent.
Together, these features create a stay that feels grounded, restorative, and quietly luxurious.
