Disliked: Cleanliness
This is a room in a student residence. On the one hand the staff is pleasant (though available only 30 hours per week) and the location is in a quiet, upscale, convenient neighborhood. There is plenty of heat, which the guest can regulate, which is not a given in London. On the minus side, the guest is offered nothing beyond a room that is clean and spacious upon arrival but not serviced during the stay. No soap, no cup. They give you a roll of toilet paper, but if you leave it at the toilet other guests will take it and use it. The facilities often seemed to be in disrepair (one shower had scalding hot water, one only had cold water and a third worked OK, and once the light bulb blew out and nobody replaced it),and could be a lot cleaner, especially on weekends. At night there was frequently a moderate noise level from student guests, or from noisy neighborhood pubs around the corner. The price is good in a very expensive city, and the location couldn't be better, but any prospective guest should be aware of exactly what they are getting into.
