This is the sort of hotel where I really would like to give it 9/10. It's as close to perfect as I have found in London below a premium price point. It's really well situated, close to two tube stations and I could get to my office in Soho in just over 30 minutes. The bed was super comfortable and the sound insulation was excellent. The service was really good. One of the days my wife didn't leave the room until after midday and the room was still made up for us on our return. Normally I really don't like it when I'm forced to take a breakfast inclusive rate (I couldn't get a room only rate) and I'm generally happy to pick up a croissant on the way to work. But the breakfast here is simply the best compulsory breakfast I have ever had in London. It was superb and the service was excellent. Only minor gripes stop me giving The Chamberlain 5 stars. First, there were only 4 coathangers in the wardrobe and the clips that held them on the rail were plastic and falling to pieces, meaning that it was difficult to keep the hangers on the rail. The lighting in the bathroom was just awful for putting on your makeup and there was no alternative in the room. There is a light over the mirror but it is very dim and doesn't have it's own switch so you can't switch the very bright overhead light off. And the shower is great except that the temperature was inconsistent, which was annoying. But I would absolutely come here again.

The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Location is okay. The shower was inconsistent (changing between hot and cold every few seconds) and there was not clear instructions for checking out in the early hours of the morning. Overall I would recommend.

Would return! Very impressed with our stay; positive interactions with staff and rooms are decent- nice decor. Breakfast was nice and I’m happy with the amenities in the room - coffee maker and seating area. Only improvements would be the size of bed, too small for 2 people really - must have been a double! And water temperature was a bit funny, warm then scolding throughout shower. Issue with kettle too - previous guest or cleaner had left it on with no water, so it was getting hot, then ticking loudly and continuously did that every 30 mins throughout the first night. The next night, decided to investigate and realised - could have been very dangerous! Thank goodness it was recognising the temp and switching itself on and off. We did mention this at reception, but she didn’t get it.

Nice hotel have stayed at before .. this time went for a room with balcony as a special birthday occasion but not sure I would again, the balcony is very very creaky .. did not feel that safe and the corridors on floor 5 were a bit tatty, also rubbish left in the lift ? Breakfast this time was also a bit average

Breakfast was a bit shambolic, not enough food out for the number of guests so staff were stretched although very good at doing their best. Perhaps a larger buffet area for the size of dining room is needed.
