The best thing at this hotel was MATHEW the manager. He loves his job- you can tell! He was very professional, cares about the hotel and more importantly the hotel guests. I am a disabled American and I arrived very early from USA. For a small premium he eagerly tried to get me into my room for a much needed rest and to take medication. He escorted me to the hotel club room and showed me how to fix a cup a tea while he went back to the front desk to help me. I also knew he might not be able to help me but it was very apparent he was going to try to help me. By the way the Club room is nice and if I had to I could have taken a nap in one of the chairs. Mathew worked his magic and came to take me to my room. The bellmen were busy and he assisted me to my room. I offered him a small pecuniary gift and said he could not take it and apologized. I said I will give it to the front tomorrow and they could decide on how to divide it up. Now that’s class. The type of class and managerial skills you see at the more iconic hotels of London such as THE SAVOY which is in the neighborhood. This young man needs to be promoted to CORPORATE and lead corporate training or MOVE ON to another hotel. I don’t say this lightly or without much experience. I have traveled over 4 million miles and have stayed at more hotels globally than I can count. Plus my wife’s family was in the hotel hospitality business. Well done MATTHEW. THANKS. London hotels need to improve the HEATING SYSTEM.

I did not use the laundry service or air conditioning. Room itself was very clean. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I especially liked the lounge that was available 24/7 for free coffee and tea.

The stay was disappointing. I had planned a lovely trip to central London with my partner, but from the very beginning everything felt wrong. Check-in lacked any personal touch — it was generic and completely automated. The room itself was of a very low standard, especially considering the price for one night. The bed was unstable, and after reporting it we ended up changing rooms three times. This wasted a lot of time and caused unnecessary stress, which ultimately affected the mood for both of us during what was meant to be an enjoyable stay. Even the final room had an unstable bed, leaving me anxious that it might break. Overall, it was a very poor experience — I’ve had better standards at a Travelodge.
