The location was very nice, walkable to shopping, dining, and tourist spots. The rooms for The Grand are below ground, so no view. But it was quiet and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was excellent, we ate there twice.

I booked two rooms for my family of 5 adults and the one room was perfect. The room I stayed in, was a bit touch and go in terms of temperature, either way too hot or way too cold. The pull out could be better but after a long full day of exploring London, it was a good place to rest. Breakfast was wonderful, it would have been nicer if there was a spot to get some late night snacks as we were returning to the hotel late and both restaurants and surrounding were already closed for the evening :0 other than that, it was a great stay and experience!

Rooms are old and tired with poor air circulation and windows that were basically inoperable and broken (glass). The beds are old and lumpy like sleeping on a sack of potatoes. There is no bath tub and bathroom is small poorly fitted and a shower that spills water onto the floor. Room cleaning had to be reported to management. Room had strange smell that was not resolved. Room noisy as only way to ventilate room was to prop the window open onto busy street below. The lobby was impressive but this was not reflected in the room provided.

Very nice accommodations, pleasant and helpful staff, although our requirements were few. Good central location in close proximity to Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, the Tube, etc. Avoid paying for extended checkout time; it’s outrageous.

Very convenient to the Thames, the sidings, shopping, theatre district, whitehall area, etc. Older hotel but clean and safe. Staff were helpful and courteous. The 24/7 coffee station was very nice touch.

This is a great "old school" hotel in a great location right off Trafalgar and very close to the Embankment underground stop. 15 minute walk to Parliament/Westminster, About 25-30 min walk to British Museum. Short walk to many pubs, theaters and Covent Garden. Stayed 4 nights. Classic lobby and bar. Did not eat there, so no info on food. Rooms are somewhat small but comfortable; bed and shower updated recently. Housekeeping staff responsive and courteous. Front desk, especially Nalin, very professional and personable. After an all night flight he welcomed us like we were old friends, helped us to store luggage and showed us where the guests only coffee lounge was located before making a couple of suggestions for an afternoon stroll. We would definitely stay at the Grand again.

Great location. Walkable to many sites and close to bus and subway. Only negative is in our room the mattress for the bed and pull out both need to be replaced as they sunk in. There is a tesco (convenient store) on the corner so it was nice for drinks and snacks brought back to the room

Location is excellent! Room was clean and adequate. But you’re not there to stay in your room. The bar was big and the staff was very nice. They have a nice big living room type room with business area and sitting areas for people to enjoy self service coffee or tea and work or wait for people anytime of the day. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location for visitors wishing to see major sights or for locals spend weekend in town for shows, restaurants etc. For those able to walk 30 minutes I'd estimate 75% of major London attractions are in range. Otherwise multiple Rail, Tube, Taxi, bus options are 5 minutes away. There are a lot of Hotel options in this area. Many are considerably higher rate with different experiences. If you want a clean comfortable room, with the typical facilities you'd expect at a reasonable rate (for central London) and being in town, who you're with and what you do are stars of your trip, this could be a great option for you. If you want your hotel to take a higher role you can get better experience nearby but at higher cost. I was overall happy with stay but couldn't give 5 star review as the glass in the window of my room was broken and repaired by plastic film. (this may have been temporary repair but I can only rate what I see). In summary good place to stay, pleasant staff but lightly staffed, good value if you get a reasonable rate
