The booking system was down when we arrived. I had requested rooms 213 or 212 for our 3 nights stay. Also for an early check in (I offered to pay) as we had a meal booked before our trip to the opera and wanted to get changed from our journey. Check in was delayed until 3.20pm so was even later. We were given room 212 then just as we were to collect our luggage the receptionist came running over and took the key cards back. Eventually we were allocate room 112.

I stayed at the Royal Horseguards for 7 nights. I was very impressed and would recommend this hotel. The staff are attentive and prompt. The breakfast buffet is the same everyday, and is of above average quality. The dinner I had at the hotel restaurant was great. I should also record that my 24hour flight landed at 6am in the morning, and although check-in was at 3pm, I queried whether there was the off chance my room would be ready before then. I was very thankful that per chance, it was. Thank you again!

The room was nice, comfortable and clean clean. However, there was a dripping noise coming from the corner of the room and the staff treated guests differently depending on their attire. No milk for coffee.

Our room was as described and was kept spotless by housekeeping. There were nice amenitites in the room such as water kettle for tea or coffee as well as a coffee machine. The bed was very comfortable. The best part of the visit was the hotel staff. They were always ready to make you visit as pleasurable as possible. This included receptionists, housekeepers, door men/hosts Pervez and Milion, concierges, and the host in the Green Parlour in the morning, Joe. Those three men added greatly to our enjoyment during our stay. We were there for one week and will definitely stay there the next time we visit London.

Although the room was adequate it was not the quality expected of a premium London hotel. There was no hot water for showers in the morning then we had a 20 minute queue for breakfast which caused us to be 2 minutes late for checking out whereupon we were locked out of our room. The hotel clearly couldn’t cope with the number of guests and when we complained at checkout the manageress simply stated there was nothing she could do and to take it up with Expedia as that’s where we booked. Terrible service with no offer to recompense us for a poor experience.

Only luke warm water in the evening, and only cold water the next day. The bare minimum you want from a hotel is for it to be clean and be able to have a warm shower, so freezing cold showers in the morning wasnt great!

Spotless, huge room with all necessary amenities. Really comfy bed in quiet area so enjoyed a great night's sleep. Shower took some working out - ended up having to have a bath! Served food until 11pm which served us well when we arrived late from the theatre!

Beautiful hotel in THE best location with king beds, clean well appointed rooms, friendly and efficient staff, 1/2 block from the Embarkment tube station. View of the Thames is unbelievable.
