The rooms are very dark and the operation of shade, tv and radio very confusing. Person at front desk unable to help. Coffee shop unable to sell coffee one afternoon as barista didn’t show up. Next morning they had no breakfast sandwiches. Everybody very nice but just seemed there were no adults. Place was being run by 20somethings. Valet system also very complicated.

The hotel itself is very unique; great ambiance. I was incredibly disappointed that the valet attendant left a SMOKE smell in my new car! Also, I called the front desk half a dozen times for a roll of toilet paper and no one ever answered. I finally went downstairs to find the front desk employee hanging out. After our room was cleaned the bathroom trash was left in the middle of the walkway with the toilet seat flipped up.

Loved it!

In a great part of town in NuLu. Coffee shops, BBQ, breweries and great unique shops all within walking distance. Easy parking on side streets or valet. Gotta try the warm olives in the rooftop bar at the hotel. Addicting….got to go to Muths to get the special candy. Hotel is uniquely decorated and has a great vibe. Staff was friendly.

Beautiful place but room was terribly dark. I’ve stayed in hotels of similar vibe but for anyone who just wants to see in their suitcase at night, the room was so dim it was impossible. I asked for an extra plug in lamp and received no follow up. Maybe it was just my room but not for anyone who has the slightest bit of issue seeing dark, particularly at night.

Cute, trendy, unprofessional front desk staff

Hotel is very cute, and trendy. However the front desk staff was not dressed nor acted professional. My stay was during derby. I had a very long travel day and requested an interior room away from the party noise. The room I was given over looked the rabbit hole bar, and was extremely loud in the room at 3pm. I ask the front desk how long the music would be playing, she said it’s a bar and they are open until 4am. I then asked if I could be moved and was told I could not. After I demanded to speak to the manager and I was eventually moved to a quieter room.

Perfect location. Safe neighborhood. Amazing boutique hotel. Michelin Key distinguished property. Street parking nearby if you don't wish to valet. During my stay was the last weekend for onsite The Lucky Penny speakeasy bar. It permanently closed the Sunday I checked out. Sad. Cool bar. I was informed that it will be renovated as another concept. Nice little market in the hotel for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, basic snacks, drinks. You receive a $20 market credit to use with each night's stay. Nice restaurant on property, also. Clean hotel. Comfortable bed. Close to many wonderful restaurants, cocktail bars and a couple of boutique distilleries. Short walks to restaurants like The Last Refuge, LuLu on Market, La Bodeguita De Mima is right across the street. Bob Dylan's Heaven's Gate Distillery is two blocks away, Whiskey Thief Distillery...this is a great place to stay if wanting to explore the treasures in NuLu.
