The room was lovely, comfortable, clean, and a pretty view of the Ohio River. The breakfast was unsatisfactory! When the eggs and bacon ran out twice, they were not replaced in a timely manner and people had to wait for them to be refilled twice in a 30 minute period even though there were only about a dozen and a half people in the dining room.

Very nice hotel on a hillside overlooking Madison. My room had a balcony. I wish I’d had more time to hang out on it. Breakfast was pretty standard but fine. Room was huge and clean. There is a bit of truck noise from the road heading over the bridge. Nicest hotel I’ve stayed at I awhile.

The balcony view was great. Beds were comfortable. Room was very clean. Would have loved to have more time to see Madison as looked liked a great place to shop, eat and relax. The riverfont looked so inviting and the architecture would have been so much fun to explore. Going to ry and make it back there and spend some time.

The history of Hillside Inn is a draw. Restoration has take this into account. The building has good bones.

We paid extra for a balcony room because the whole premise of this hotel is hilltop views. Our “view” was of trees right outside the balcony, we asked to switch rooms but that request wasn’t granted. We felt like we did not get what we paid for or expected.

Overall a great place to stay!

The hotel itself is very nice - the staff was wonderful, the room was beautiful and the view off the balcony was wonderful. My only complaint, and this is very subjective, is that the beds were way too firm. I couldn’t sleep at all and my kids also complained…but if you like a firm mattress, you’ll love it! The breakfast was very nice - eggs, potatoes, bacon, lots of bread products, juices, coffee, teas, fresh fruit, waffles, etc. It was kept well stocked and we really enjoyed it.
