Wouldn’t do it again!

Variety of shopping and eating around the hotel was great. The hotel itself was ok…just ran down. The reason for the poor score is, hotel staff came in and out of the room (not housekeeping) multiple times without communicating. We could not get a clear answer as to why they went in the first time. The second was to remove the C02 detector (first thing in the morning while we were in pajamas), then entered again in the afternoon while we were gone. This was all within 24 hours. I spoke with the assistant GM Nat. Who thought me being upset by this was funny. She told me they were doing routing maintenance and were not sure how many more times the would be in and out and they weren’t required to inform us. She also stated hotels weren’t required to let us know. Those are just the entries I knew about…being that it was just us 2 females traveling, we felt unsafe with random men letting themselves in and out of the room.

Old, dark, needed updating. The furniture (desk chair and couch) needed a good cleaning. Bathroom so dark could not read contents of bottles (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). Breakfast was about the same quality as other hotels offering breakfast.

Enjoyed my stay, but...

I enjoyed my stay at the Residence Inn. The kitchen was well stocked with what I needed and the room was comfortable. Overall the stay was nice. There were two issues: 1. The toilet didn't flush properly. The water filled up really high and I was concerned that it was going to overflow. The front desk staff offered two good solutions--move to another room or use a pludger. 2. The tissue metal dispenser was too close to the toilet and the toilet was too close to the wall. I banged my elbow several times on the dispenser's sharp edges. That was painful and very unpleasant. The employees were very friendly and professional. They really helped me have a pleasant stay.

Hated everything the manager was so rude I have it on tape. The pool was nasty has nails and screws in it and ripped clothes. The room has mold and dust I have a video of that as well and I also didn’t get no housekeeping only time housekeeping stopped by is when they was walking in uninvited as well as the manager did the same thing walked right in as I was walking up saying he was looking for me, but closing the door. Everyday my key has to get reprogrammed maybe 3x a day if I leave out the room it’s like they go in right behind me. The housekeeping walk around talking nasty about the guest talking in Spanish.

The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom seemed pretty run down between the toilet & shower. I’m 5’8 and I had to duck to use the shower which is not typically normal.

The hotel staff was friendly but if you are on the bottom floor, you will be able to hear the people in the room above you breathe. Other than the constant footsteps and talking, the room was comfortable.

The Madison Police Dept banged on the neighbor's door at 4:00am and woke us up. Not sure what was going on as too afraid to open the door. At checkout, we notified the front desk of a young girl who appeared to be passed out in the business center. There was no one who could print a copy of my receipt, no one checked on the girl (I finally did), and two people who were unsure of what to do about a girl who was in the restroom and not coming out.
