I didn't see anything except the lodge because it was raining the entire time we were there. The rooms were very basic. The TV didn't work and no one was able to correct this. The staff was nice enough. It was safe and clean and quiet. Adequate, but nothing special.

Breakfast was amazing. There was a lot of nature. Swimming pool well kept. The rooms are a little old-fashioned. Especially the televisions. They need to let people know on Sundays. The dining room is closed. We had to drive almost an hour for dinner.

Pennyrile State Park Resort was a fortuitous find while seeking accommodations when our son was in a basketball tournament in Madisonville. The room, main lodge and restaurant were extremely clean and comfortable. There are so many things to do, including 9 or 18 holes on the golf course and fishing or canoe/ kayak on the 56 acre lake. Other activities include mini-golf, basketball and tennis courts and an outdoor pool. Would have loved it if the coffee were stronger (suggestion: 1 cup Keurig makers in the rooms) but the food at the restaurant was very tasty with many choices. If we ever return to this area of Kentucky, we will happily stay here again!
