The breakfasts are delicious works of culinary artistry, beautifully presented, and they kept me going practically until dinner. I couldn't wait for the next morning to what we get next. Simon is a generous, engaging and resourceful host who gave helpful suggestions when I asked about local sites. The flea market items for sale throughout the house made for fun browsing in every hallway and common room. I would come back to this unique place for sure, close to downtown and all sorts of restaurants. Abig thank you to Simon!

A Delight for the Senses

We had such a delightful time at La Maison. Simon the host was incredibly gracious, friendly and helpful. The inn is just charming--and comfortable. The breakfast was out of this world and starting with an amazing fruit bowl that included grilled pineapple and creme fraishe. He then made a poached egg wrapped in prosciutto, cheese and a croissant. The coffee was strong and smooth. We will be back!

Simon was amazing! Our party came into Magog after midnight needing an extra room, and Simon accommodated us cheerfully. The rooms are comfortable and decorated with interesting collectibles. And the breakfast was really first class!

Perfect in every way

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of a one-night stay at La Maison de Ville (August 2, 2025). The accommodation in a century home was outstanding. Our room was one of four on the second floor. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable, with an ensuite bathroom. There was a shared lounge area with television, Nespresso machine, toaster oven, fridge and balcony. Breakfast was fantastic. We started with a baked pear topped with apples, greens, sunflower and poppy seeds, and cream over caramel. That was followed by grilled eggplant, zucchini, another type of squash, poached egg, sunflower seeds and greens over toast. Coffee and the orange/pineapple juice were great. Presentation of the breakfast was first class. I appreciate the fact that Simon sources locally grown produce and goods. The location was perfect. It was one block from the lively restaurants and shops on rue Principale. Pointe-Merry Park and the lake were minutes away. Parking was free. Simon, the owner, was an outstanding host. Upon checking in, he asked if we had any dietary allergies. He offered suggestions about what we could see and do during our stay. During breakfast he explained the dishes that were served, and also took time to detail the extensive renovations and history of his 20 year ownership of this fabulous bed and breakfast. It was obvious that Simon is a trained chef. Our only regret was that we only stayed just one night. We will definitely return. Thank you, Simon.

A beautiful surprise-spectacular breakfast

We were looking for a place to stay one night in Magog, I hadn’t realized breakfast was included and it was stunning! I wish I took pictures, it tasted as good as it looked. I would definitely book again. Our host was welcoming and accommodating, letting us check in earlier and making sure we had a space in the parking lot to charge the car. Our room was small, but very comfortable, perfect for the night!

What a fantastic stay! Simon was amazing, so welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was quaint, cozy, and full of charm, perfect for a relaxing getaway. To top it all off, the breakfast was absolutely incredible, delicious and beautifully prepared by Simon.
