Room and welcome 5*
Our greeting by the staff member was over and above my level of expectation - he was truly lovely and chatty and arranged for our bags to be dropped tot he room whilst we went and parked. The room was gorgeous. The only slight unpleasantness was a half eaten pack of chocolates left in the fridge (by other guests) and some bottled water would have been nice

New, clean and in a good central location. Room wasn’t ready when we got there inspite of not appearing full and it being nearly 3pm. Part of the problem may have been that they initially had my booking as a suite which they realised was a mistake so there were less of those rooms. Whilst waiting for the room to be readied they realised this and downgraded me to a standard room. Breakfast was good quality but expensive. Someone I knew did a late walk in that night and got a cheap rate and breakfast comp’d. Roof bar was quite quiet and view at the moment is of building works in the square. Will be a great view when this is completed. All in all a good hotel that will get better.
