Nous avons sĂ©journĂ© dans cette propriĂ©tĂ© pendant deux semaines de vacances et c'Ă©tait merveilleux. Le propriĂ©taire Ă©tait un hĂŽte charmant et serviable. La communication Ă©tait excellente et il a mis Ă  notre disposition tout ce dont nous avions besoin. La rĂ©gion est magnifique et offre un accĂšs idĂ©al aux sentiers de randonnĂ©e. L'endroit est isolĂ©, il faut donc prĂ©voir de prendre la voiture pour faire les courses ou aller au restaurant. Il y a une petite Ă©picerie dans la vallĂ©e et un supermarchĂ© Ă  20 minutes en voiture. Attention, la route d'accĂšs est raide et l'accĂšs en hiver peut ĂȘtre difficile en cas de verglas ou de neige. Nous avons Ă©tĂ© enchantĂ©s de notre sĂ©jour et prĂ©voyons d'y retourner lors de notre prochain voyage dans le Cantal.We stayed at this property for two weeks over the holidays and it was wonderful. The owner was a gracious and helpful host. They communicated well and provided everything we need. The area is beautiful and has great access to hiking in the area. the location is remote so be prepared to drive for groceries or to eat out. There is a small market in the valley and larger accessible within a 20 minute drive. Be warned the access road is steep and winter access can be difficult if there is ice or snow. We could not be happier with our stay and plan to return on our next visit to Cantal.

A lovely cottage in a stunning location

Pretty house, well equipped and attractively fitted out, the perfect setting for our wonderful holiday. M. and Mme Mazieres are a delight, very welcoming hosts. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the garden, watching/listening to the many birds and insects, with the beautiful mountains in close view. The pretty village is a quite steep stroll down and back up to the house, about a kilometre each way, we oldies (mid-seventies) enjoyed the walk!

What a lovely place this is. Pictures don’t do justice. We loved staying here and route 11 goes just behind the house, we did it finishing at mandailles for lunch (restaurant d’or),it’s really an ideal location for hikes combined with a relaxed getaway overlooking the valley. Bring some essentials and even wine from the city and just sit on that terrace and see the world go by - bliss! Theres a little (very little) shop in st julien 5-10min away by car with essentials and also in mandallilles which is a bit bigger (dont expect much!). You can def buy cheese everywhere even from the farmers down the road. The gps will take you straight to the house, and don’t worry about the last stretch, it’s steep! weather was pefect At the end of september but i bet it gets quite icy, my only concern would be the snow/ice on those steep roads. The house is well equiped and you only need to bring towels and food, it was great for us as we were just two and a dog. Garden is perfectly enclosed and they provide a little bed and bowls if you have a dog. You can go to the auberge col de legal to have lunch its a bit of an adventure and the gorges de la jordanne are not far from there. However when we come back we will just do trails. The area and house are great and if you want to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, this is your place! Thanks for restoring this beautiful Gite and allowing us to meet a new area in France - we will be back! Silvia & Alex

Nous avons été accueillis par une hÎtesse trÚs agréable et prévenante qui avait posé sur la table un colis de bienvenue fait de produits locaux (excellente confiture maison), de cartes à jouer et gadgets pour notre petite fille et de friandises pour notre chat. Sa maison typique meublée dans le jus d'origine comporte néanmoins tout le modernisme nécessaire à nos habitudes contemporaines (lave-vaisselle, lave-linge, sÚche linge...) et bénéficie d'une vue magnifique sur le parc des volcans d'Auvergne. Tout y est d'une propreté remarquable. A vous le calme, le repos ou les randonnées...

L'hÎte est trÚs accueillante, et nous donne toutes les explications nécessaires au bon fonctionnement de la maison. Maison trÚs agréable avec une vue magnifique sur le paysage du Cantal. Seul Bémol pour nous la douche, étant grand, l'espace de lavage est compliqué. Mais cela n'enlÚve en rien au charme de cette maison.

Formidable! Une vue Ă  couper le souffle! Des hĂŽtes aux petits soins, dans cette partie de barriade familiale. Un village oĂč l'on va Ă  pied (20mn) par un joli chemin. TrĂšs beau sĂ©jour dans un endroit isolĂ© comme nous les aimons et avec une vue sur un paysage typique du Cantal. Le balcon avec terrasse et le jardin avec ses chaises longues invitent sans cesse Ă  l'observation des parcelles, des burons, des troupeaux, des rapaces, des sommets, des chemins. TrĂšs joli gĂźte dans une maisonnette cantalienne (barriade). Tout y est prĂ©vu. Il faut apprĂ©cier les styles authentiques, toute la dĂ©coration rappelle l'histoire de la rĂ©gion. Jacqueline est trĂšs rĂ©active en cas de question ou de petits problĂšmes Ă  rĂ©soudre, et est trĂšs soucieuse du bien-ĂȘtre des occupants. Nous recommandons le restaurant des 3 GenĂȘts ainsi que sa boulangerie/patisserie et son Ă©picerie (Ă  Mandaille). ExtrĂȘmement pratique et trĂšs qualitatif. La Maison de Site de Mandailles propose des activitĂ©s gratuites : nous avons bĂ©nĂ©ficiĂ© d'une randonnĂ©e gĂ©ologique du massif des volcans avec une vulcanologue chevronnĂ©e et passionnante (Evelyne Pradal elle-mĂȘme). Il y a par ailleurs des randonnĂ©es de toutes tailles et difficultĂ©s dĂšs le portail du gĂźte. Les paysages sont extraordinaires.

Le gĂźte du Felgeadou est proche des sites touristiques (Salers, Puy Mary, gorges de la Jordanne
) et est trĂšs bien situĂ©, le calme absolu du matin au soir.Dispose d’un petit potager bio derriĂšre la maison prĂšs de chez Raymond (qui est adorable au passage, n’hĂ©sitez pas Ă  aller discuter avec lui ;) tout comme Jacqueline qui est au petit soin avec ses rĂ©sidents qu’ils soient Ă  4 pattes ou non ! :p Belle rĂ©gion, ressourçante avec des bons produits.

Havre de paix

La mĂ©tĂ©o n'Ă©tait pas forcĂ©ment au rendez-vous, il a beaucoup plus en dĂ©but de semaine. Mais L'insert nous a tenu bien au chaud. Notre chien a particuliĂšrement apprĂ©ciĂ© le jardin bien clos Ă  double-niveau, un petit sur le devant et un plus grand en contre-bas de la maison, nous aussi une fois le soleil revenu ainsi que la terrasse. Maison confortable, trĂšs au calme, mais c'est peut-ĂȘtre la vue imprenable qui nous restera en mĂ©moire (... avec la visite de la chauve-souris). Nous Ă©tions venus pour nous reposer, mission accomplie (Nous reviendrons lorsque nous serons plus en forme pour davantage de balades : ça grimpe dur par lĂ  !)

Mon mari et moi-mĂȘme avons passĂ© un sĂ©jour magnifique dans la VallĂ©e de la Jordanne. Tout Ă©tait parfait : une ravissante maison trĂšs trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e et documentĂ©e, avec un magnifique jardin, situĂ©e au milieu des montagnes ! Parfait pour les amoureux de la nature !
