Condo was not cleaned. Not prepared for rental at all. Shower dirty with rust marks, bathroom baseboards dusty all around, shower curtain dirty and old, bathroom vent dirty, light bulbs in the bathroom burned out, carpets not cleaned for long time, mirrors and and sliders with finger prints. Cleaning crew sent to make corrections not friendly. Maintenance crew that came to replace shower curtain left dirty shoe marks in the bathtub and on our towel( have picture). By the way you would never know they work for rental company. No any kind of uniform or name tag.

Help needed

Within the first 15 minutes after arrival, my wife was LOCKED in the bathroom! I was able to use a flexible knife that I found in the kitchen drawer, to retract the latch and open the door. The lock was not working when we arrived, as a previous guest? had jammed paper in the strike to prevent the latch from engaging. In addition, the bathroom sink drain stopper didn't work. The office was called and within 30 minutes, two repairmen showed up and fixed the issues. As a previous guest stated, "the unit it hasn't been updated since the the 70's. Pictures don't reveal how old it really is. Kitchen, furniture, blinds, bed linens". Did I mention that one of the slats fell off the vertical blinds, the first time it was moved. (these were supposedly repaired prior to us checking in, because there was a short delay at checkin) Also from a previous guest "carpet is years old in bedroom. Bathroom exhaust is so loud it'll wake everyone while running". The pool was nice, and the TV and A/C worked fine.

Updating Needed

First off I'm going to say Horizon Rentals was spot on. Toilet broke immediately and they were there within 15 minutes to fix it. I own a property management company and I'm a property manager for vacation rentals and condo buildings. Was impressed with Horizon Rentals management service. As for the unit it hasn't been updated since the the 70's. Pictures don't justify how old it really is. Kitchen, furniture, blinds, bed linens. Only two towels each for entire vacation??? One beach towel each? Stuff falling apart without us touching it. Crazy! Carpet is 20 years old in bedrooms. Bathroom exhaust is so loud it'll wake everyone while running. Positive..ac worked well. But that's it. The exterior of building is dirty.
