The 5th arrondissement is close to both the city centre and the southern districts of Marseille. This urban area encompasses the Baille, Camas, Plaine, Conception and Saint-Pierre districts. The very popular Cours Julien is less than a 10-minute walk away.
The neighbourhood is well served by public transport (bus, tram, metro), facilitating access to Marseille's main tourist attractions, including the Vieux-Port, the Cosquer cave, the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica, the Panier neighbourhood, etc. It particularly attracts a trendy and alternative population on the Plaine side and a more bohemian population in the Camas.
