We had the most wonderful stay at MelRose Relais. Pasquale the evening server in the restaurant was incredibly friendly, and helpful with several suggestions for things to see, where and when to catch the bus which was super close by, as well as food and wine suggestions each night. We loved how he went above and beyond and it was a pleasure getting to know him. He was a highlight from our entire trip. All of the staff were friendly and available to help with anything. The evening the restaurant was closed they arranged free transportation to another local restaurant which was one of our best meals in Italy. I saw that some people complained about the drive way but it wasn’t overly long and even after recent ankle surgery it was easily manageable. The buses were frequent and took less than 10 minutes to get us into Sorrento. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The hotel staff were amazing and very responsive & helpful through WhatsApp. We had a late check-in, and they were so accommodating. The view from the hotel was beautiful, and it was just a short drive from the city centre. Breakfast at the restaurant was great, we loved the omelette! Everything was clean and tidy. We wish we could’ve met the wonderful team in person, but we were out exploring most of the time. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay here!

The room was nice and contemporary, very pleasant Decor. The second story room has a beautiful view from the small sitting area at the front of the entrance, The sunset was stunning ! There are o lot of nice flowers at the property, it creates a wonderful atmosphere… Pool area is nice but we did not had a chance to use the pool because of the weather . The complimentary breakfast was a nice addition. The stuff was very nice and take care of all our needs very quickly .

This was definitely our favourite stay while being in Italy. Service here has been incredible. Room got upgraded. Breakfast included is always a bonus. Location has been so nice. It’s about 100m away from bus stop that takes you into to sorrento town. Which was perfect for us. We booked a 12 person boat tour to almalfi and positano which I highly recommend. Other day we took ferry out of sorrento to Capri. If you have time to do one of each.. do it. During the time we stayed here it was a bit chilly but they have a pool which I’m sure during spring summer and early fall is amazing. This place is definitely 100/10. Thank you for a wonderful stay Melrose!

Gem of a hotel

We were originally looking for a place in down town Sorrento but fortunately came across this beautiful gem. The property is great. it's a small hotel run by a family who are involved with it's everyday operation. Beautiful pool and restaurant. We were not able to get the A/C running but because it wasn't that warm we never persued the issue. There is a bar at the pool but we found the prices to be very expensive but equal to every other place that we visited. The rooms were cleaned daily . There is a bus stop right by the front of the property which was convenient for getting into down town Sorrento to hop a train or shop.

The staff were amazing. The room amenities could have included proper coffee maker, creamer and free still water. Basic in all hotels in North America and the Caribbean. We had dinner in the restaurant twice and it was spectacular! All in all, a great experience. We would recommend.

A lovely hotel and a great location. The staff are friendly and the food and drink are high level and a fair price for the area. The only regret I have is the room. We paid extra for the deluxe room and in hindsight I wish we hadn’t. The room was fine and as advertised but whilst at the hotel we realised we were the only ones without an outdoor seating area. If you are looking to go and want to treat yourself I’d recommend one of the suites rather than the deluxe room. Otherwise everything was great and I’d recommend staying there.

This hotel was absolutely perfect for our stay. The location is stunning – quiet, peaceful and with a lovely pool and sunset dining area. Our room was modern, spotless and even had a little garden space to relax in. Netflix on the TV was a great extra touch. The staff were fantastic – so friendly, accommodating and always happy to help. They took time to explain everything clearly at check-in and really went out of their way for us during our stay. Breakfast was simple but tasty, just what we needed to start the day. We also loved how convenient it was – just a short walk to the bus stop, which made getting into Sorrento really easy. Overall, a peaceful retreat with everything you need. We would definitely stay here again! :)

My husband and I stayed here in Sept 2025. What a lovely property! A beautiful pool area with a lot of seating and a cocktail bar (extremely pricey drinks). There is an evening restaurant on the property that we ate at the first night and it was our best meal! The waiter was fantastic! Also a breakfast area around the corner - you can order fresh eggs/omelettes and then a buffet (mostly sweet items). It is about a 15 minute drive/bus ride outside of Sorrento. There is a bus that stops almost right outside and takes you into Sorrento for only 1.50€. There are no stores/mini markets within walking distance for anything you might need. A few restaurant options within walking distance - but the bus is a great option to head into Sorrento for dinner and once you’re there, it’s extremely walkable. The service was outstanding. The staff helps you book anything you might want to do and is there to answer all of your questions about the area. It is a bit hard to find - there is a small sign so you really have to be watching. Very quiet oasis away from the hustle & bustle.

The Melrose is a gorgeous place to stay away from the hustle & bustle of Sorrento. The pool area & gardens are lovely as is the outside bar - every little detail has been thought of, it’s a lovely place to spend time relaxing. We stayed in the delux double room which is very spacious, the only downside is, it doesn’t have an outdoor seating area whereas most of the other rooms do. Dining at the hotel was excellent with a great dinner choice - the outdoor terrace where dinner is served has stunning views across the bay to Naples. Breakfast was also very good with great hot & cold choices. The staff are brilliant & so helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Due up the location of the hotel, the centre of Sorrento can be reached by using the excellent bus service that stops near to the hotel. We loved our holiday at The Melrose & can’t recommend it highly enough as a lovely, calming place to stay ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing views and great stay

Great little hotel up on the hills, driving there is easy, just watch the curves, they have on-site parking which is a nice plus. Just a bit hard to find, great breakfast and friendly staff. The gps points tu the essenza restaurant, that Hotel entrance is behind it up on hill, just turn left a bit after it if coming from Sorento

Family run, who were very freindly and accommodating. Spoke excellent English Rovotiana the meeter and greeter couldn't do enough for you. If your looking for a quiet and stunning location, look no further the Melrose relais. We will definitely return again.

We found home in the Amalfi cost this place is amazing we went there for our first night and we went back We ride on motorbike and its was nice to see the people. Services and hospitality. We had Great time highly recommend to Bikers who wants to explore the amazing amlfy Cost. Food and drinks And don’t forget to get Olive oil the owner make. It’s the best we had in the area

Coming Back For Sure

Our first stay here, 3 nights, and we are already planning a longer stay for next summer. The personal attention we received upon check in surpasses anything we've experienced (and we travel several times each month). The views from our private terrace-- WOW! We could clearly see the wildfire on Mt Vesuvius. The breakfast chef is different from the dinner chef-- both are incredibly talented, as we enjoyed every single bite! Pasquale was a delight to converse with in the evenings and the dining terrace has the best views. The reception reserved sunbeds at the Kadelmar Beach Club and their shuttle picked us up at the hotel. It's a lovely walk down to the beach club and there is a public beach there, as well-- with those blue/green waters you see on postcards. But to climb back up to the hotel in the heat of the day... We decided on the shuttle! The city bus (2€) stopped just outside the hotel and took us to Sorento City center, where we got the get to Capri for the day. I can't say enough about the elegant, personalized experience of Melrose. And the convenience is an added bonus.

Beautiful Boutique

Beautiful boutique just outside Sorrento. Very welcoming and understood all our needs during our stay. A little outside of Sorrento but a bus is very easy to get and only take 15 minutes to get in. Tip - go to a tobacco shop selling the bus tickets on your first visit down and get all you'll need for your trip then you won't have to worry!

We loved this hotel and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sorrento! It’s a little bit out of the city centre, which makes it very quiet and relaxing. The outdoor spaces (pool, restaurant, gardens) are beautiful and the staff is very kind and welcoming. The hotel also partners with a number of tour companies which you can book through Expedia messenger or the front desk. We booked the Amalfi boat tour and had an amazing day! The only negative was a very small amount of mold in the bathroom. Other than that, the entire property was very clean and well maintained. It was the perfect spot for a few days on our honeymoon!

We recently stayed at the MelRose Relays outside Sorrento and it was absolutely incredible! The hotel is nestled in a scenic, quiet location, providing a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city, yet it’s still conveniently close to all that Sorrento has to offer. The staff were beyond kind, generous, and helpful, shout out to Pietro,Bala and Pasquale for making us feel right at home. The food was another highlight—both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. The pool area was gorgeous and relaxing, complete with a poolside bar for that extra touch of luxury. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and air-conditioned, making it a great choice for both solo travelers seeking a peaceful getaway and families on vacation. Highly recommend!
