Considering there is just 1 hotel within a 10 kilometres of central Merek, it's worth booking a room early, so as to avoid disappointment.

Merek is not exactly regarded for being the accommodation capital of Sumatra, however the Taman Simalem Resort is close enough to the downtown buzz to keep most travellers happy.
