Discover this delightful unspoilt area of France from the comfort of our well equipped cottage, situated on one side of a spacious courtyard of traditional farm buildings. Found 'down the end of the lane' Chabrenas is surrounded by woods and meadows providing a peaceful and tranquil base from which to explore. Relaxing drives take you along lazy rivers to chateaux, picturesque market towns, lakes with swimming beaches or the ancient Cities of Limoges and Brive, as well as the Lot and Dordogne valleys. The cottage and garden with patios allow you to experience a quiet and peaceful setting. a perfect base for a holiday in France.

The delightful electrically heated cottage has exposed beams throughout. The Lounge area centres around a large oak beamed fireplace with a wood-burning stove having three seater settee and another chair. There is a television, DVD player and provision for English and French television.

Kitchen/ Dining Area has a large table with four chairs and kitchen has been equipped to a high standard with full size dishwasher, fridge freezer, cooker and microwave.

Leading off this open plan living area is the main bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet.

The stairs lead to the landing area. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with two single beds. either of these bedrooms could also accommodate a cot / travel cot if required.

There is also a separate toilet / wash basin room upstairs. Washing Machine is situated in nearby Bread Oven building and tumble dryer available by arrangement.

Lovely cottage with every amenity you could wish for. Hosts we’re very obliging, giving information on places to visit. Peaceful location with a fabulous swimming pool ideal to dip into on those hot summer days.

Perfect French Gîte

A perfect gîte. It was exceptionally clean, had a kitchen with everything you could possibly need, lovely inside space and bedrooms and a great private garden and lovely owners who were very happy to chat and give advice on places to visit. We would definitely visit again.

Just come back from an excellent week at Chabrenas. Lovely cottage, well appointed with good sized private garden and pool. Plenty of interesting towns and villages to visit in a 30 to 50 min drive time and some very good restaurants too. All in all excellent accommodation in a guiet and rural part of france, yet only 40.mins from limoges airport. A very good find

Beautiful accommodation in quiet location

Blissful rural getaway

We had a wonderful two weeks at Chabrenas. We particularly enjoyed Jenny and David's lovely pool and beautiful grounds, walking locally and swimming and paddle boarding on the lake.

Lovely country cottage

We were given a very warm welcome by Jenny and David and all aspects of the rental property were fully explained. Throughout our stay they were extremely friendly and helpful. We particularly appreciated safe and secure parking for vehicle and bicycles. The local restaurant they recommended was particularly good . The property is well equipped and very comfortable. It has a large private garden and again is well equipped with chairs etc. The location is isolated but ideal as a base for cycling or visiting the surrounding attractions. Access to the property is very good. Overall we can highly recommend this lovely cottage as a holiday base.

Away from it all cottage

Decided that because we *could* have a holiday in January we *would* take the opportunity to do so. We chose Jenny & David's cottage because it looked warm - and it was! Very cosy, just right for the two of us plus dog. Lovely walks nearby, and beautiful scenery. Lots of plans d'eau to walk round. Interesting towns with nice churches and chateaux. Oh for the end of lockdown so we can see more, and sit at bars and restaurants!

Lovely place

Just returned home from a lovely stay with David and Jenny, I don’t know where to start with how happy we are to have stayed in this stunning part of the world! From the moment we arrived our hosts could not have been more helpful or friendly, the gite we stayed in was beautiful, very neat and tidy with stunning outside area, David and Jenny kindly provided us with a box of toys for our children to keep them entertained, the gite is amazingly well equipped , there’s nothing you will be wanting for as the kitchen has every pot or pan you could ever need, David and Jenny kindly provided some milk and bottled water, charcoal for the bbq and cleaning products, nice to be somewhere that doesn’t require you to think a head and take car fulls of bits. The pool area is a delight, our 3 year old couldn’t get enough, all in all I can’t reccomend David and Jenny’s hospitality anymore, you will love the place!

Fabulous! Loved this place and WILL be back!

David and Jenny made us feel welcome right from the start with a tour around the property and grounds. Absolutely spotless and decorated so beautifully. Each time I headed for a cupboard, I just knew that whatever I needed I would find - this cottage lacks nothing! Fabulous garden where our dog was safe and had plenty of room, plus some lovely shady spots when it got too hot. Sun loungers and garden chairs were suitably placed in different spots around the property. David and Jenny were the best hosts, with lots of information about where to go and what to see. We just loved it here and will be back again next year - when you find perfection you stop looking elsewhere!

A lovaly gite in a great location

We spent a very relaxing week in this lovely gite. The property was perfect for us and our 2 children and was equipped with everything we needed and more besides. Great gardens and a lovely swimming pool. Jenny & David were great hosts, very friendly and helpful and the recommended village fete and fireworks was a great evening out. The heading for this review was suggested by our 12 year old daughter. Given that our 13 year old daughter said can we come for an extra week next time, I think that says it all! The accommodation far exceeded our expectations. Tasteful, comfortable and spotless. We all enjoyed the pool and eating our meals outside in the beautiful garden. Having the owners nearby was a real bonus as they made great suggestions for trips out - a night market where we selected and cooked our own food on a shared bbq, and recommending and even booking a table for us at a fantastic local restaurant (great for vegetarians and meat eaters alike). We enjoyed visiting St Yrieix and going to the local swimming lake. Can’t wait to book again although I’ve recommended it to so many people Im worried we won’t get in! We went to Disneyland afterwards and the girls preferred being at the gite. Thank you, David and Jenny, for looking after us so well.

Perfect!

A beautiful location at the end of a lane makes it a haven of peace and tranquility. The gite is extremely well equipped and very clean. The beds are really comfortable - in fact I wanted to take mine home with me because I slept so well!! Outside there is a lovely garden and you can share the owner's swimming pool - the real advantage of the property. To have the sole use of such a beautiful pool is a real plus and really made the week here special. A big thank you to two very lovely owners - David and Jenny - for sharing their property and being so helpful.

Sejour reposant dans un cadre magnifique

Tout est fait pour se sentir bien dans ce joli cottage avec un superbe jardin. Tout est pensé pour que rien ne manque. On dépose les valises et on profite du cadre, de la piscine et des jolies randonnées et visites à faire autour. Deconnexion assurée. Un grand merci à nos hôtes David et Jenny pour leur accueil, leur disponibilité et leur sympathie! La maison est charmante et très bien équipée et le jardin (dont une grande partie privative avec préau) est très arboré et agréable ainsi que la piscine. Tout est adapté pour les enfants. Gewoon zalig !

Een zalig rustige en supermooie locatie. Wij zochten rust en vonden die bij Jenny en David. Zij respecteren volledig jouw privacy, zijn super vriendelijk en attent. Elke dag vroegen ze of alles naar wens was. We konden de ganse dag, zonder gestoord te worden, gebruik maken van het zwembad. Ook onze hondjes hebben genoten van de super mooie en grote tuin. Dank je wel Jenny en David voor de perfecte vakantie !

Leuk huisje,rustig gelegen met grote tuin ideaal als u graag leest,dieren zijn welkom. Maar had toch liever een afzonderlijk huisje ,wat hier het geval niet was.De eigenaars zijn Engels talig maar doen hun best in het Frans,leuke mensen!
