The staff is very nonchalant. They never greet you or seem happy to be of service. I came in way before check in but they did accommodate me with an early check in which I paid. I asked about breakfast and they told me I had to have a credit card which I didn’t have so she suggested I add my debit card to my room so that if I’d like to have breakfast at the hotel I could. We decided not to have breakfast the at the hotel and was still charged for it. I emailed and called them like I was instructed to do so about the situation. I was told if they investigated and found no record of us having breakfast I would get refunded but now was emailed that breakfast was non refundable so I lost my money. Such an inconvenience and let down. Our AC never cooled down at all. We had to sleep w the window open to cool down the room. The closet door was missing and the pool area and the reception area were the only nice part of the hotel

Although we had a great time celebrating my friend’s birthday in Mexico City for the first time, the birthday girl ended up getting eaten up by bed bugs in our room. We are currently trying to retrieve a refund but no one has responded to our emails or calls yet. But definitely recommend checking out the Handshake Speakeasy bar!

I had stayed at this location years ago and enjoyed it more than this stay. The location is perfectly located in the Zona Rosa, plenty of restaurants and night life in walking distance. Jose the bellhop/concierge was excellent - and went above and beyond to be helpful about the hotel and the surrounding areas. I'd stay again, but you can tell the property is aging.

The hotel has potential, but there were a few issues during my stay. The electrical system didn’t always work properly — sometimes the power would cut out. The shower drain wasn’t functioning well either, and water would collect instead of draining quickly. Similarly, the sink in the bathroom would fill up fast and took a long time to empty. Also, I was hoping to check in a bit earlier, but unfortunately, early check-in wasn’t available

Disappointing Service Despite Promising Amenities I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was not up to expectations. While the property itself is well-maintained and the location convenient, the service—particularly from the front desk staff—left much to be desired. Throughout my stay, I had to repeatedly follow up on basic requests such as extra pillows and hangers. Despite being promised quick assistance, it often took several hours—and in one case, overnight—for items to arrive. This level of responsiveness is not what I expect from a hotel in this price range. Additionally, I had paid for a room upgrade, which turned out to be directly above a very noisy area of the hotel. I brought the issue to the attention of the staff who allowed us to downgrade to a much smaller room. Hoping at the very least for a refund of the upgrade cost, it took multiple weeks and a lot of effort from Expedia staff to finally get a response from the hotel. I was met with no resolution from NH but luckily Expedia offered me credit. While I understand that issues can arise, it’s how a hotel handles those situations that makes the difference. In this case, the lack of responsiveness and unwillingness to make things right made for a frustrating stay. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as there is potential here—but service needs significant improvement. For future reference, do not book any of the junior suites as they are all directly above bars/clubs.
