Hilltop Happiness is a charming 1940s beach cottage perched on a hill in Michigan City’s beloved Sheridan Beach neighborhood. Painted a cheerful yellow inside and out, the home is filled with sunshine, coastal touches, and a relaxed lakeside vibe from the moment you arrive.

This cozy retreat features two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, with a bonus sleeping area downstairs, comfortably sleeping up to six guests. The main level includes a king bedroom and a double bedroom, a full hallway bath with shower, a well-equipped kitchen, and a comfortable living room with a smart TV. Just off the kitchen, step onto the deck to enjoy outdoor dining, fire up the BBQ, and take in elevated views - especially beautiful at sunset.

The lower level offers a bonus full bathroom with shower, second living area, queen bed, and laundry facilities, perfect for spreading out after a day at the beach. Community stairs provide easy access down the hill to street level, making trips to Sheridan Beach on Lake Michigan simple and convenient.

Outside, you’ll love the adorable fenced front yard with classic white picket fencing. The location is ideal: walk to the beach, Washington Park Zoo, the marina, and enjoy nearby festivals, concerts in the park, and all that Michigan City has to offer.
Please note, this home offers open street parking, which is unreserved. Additional parking is located at the bottom of the beach stairs.

Hilltop Happiness Hiatus

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was perfect for our family vacation! We had 2 adults and 2 children and didn’t feel like we were at all cramped or on top of each other. The house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for our 5 day stay. It was very close to all the restaurants we wanted to try as well as the beach. We were able to walk with our young kids to the Zoo without any issues! I would definitely recommend for future stays.

But beds are so tough that we had to go buy a 2inch foam mattress to get through our 2nd night. We didnt even stay a third night. Would not book unless they replaced the beds

The steps to the beach were conveniently located, however overgrown in places which made it cumbersome to pass when carrying gear to and from the beach. Overall, a great beach and lake experience. Loved having the outdoor foyer to leave shoes and beach toys.
