About this property

Timeless Retro Camper with Fire Pit Retreat in Midway, Georgia

Meet a beautifully preserved 1972 Avion travel trailer and the flagship. Built during the golden age of American camping, Avions were renowned for their aircraft-inspired aluminum construction, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless design. More than fifty years later, Avalon '72 continues to embody the spirit of the open road.

Designed for two, Avalon '72 features two comfortable twin beds, making it an ideal getaway for friends traveling together, a parent and child, or solo travelers who appreciate a little extra space. Inside, you'll find air conditioning and heat, TV, Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and all the comforts needed for a relaxing stay.

Unlike our vintage Shastas, this offers a complete private bathroom with both a toilet and a shower, allowing you to enjoy all the conveniences of home right inside your camper. Guests are also welcome to use our nearby Streamline Bathhouse, an Art Deco-inspired shared bathhouse featuring two private bathrooms with comfort-height toilets, deep soaking tubs, and handheld showers—perfect if you'd rather soak after a day of exploring.

There is no cooking inside. The refrigerator and microwave are perfect for drinks, snacks, and leftovers, while the outdoor grill and nearby local restaurants provide plenty of options for meals.

Nestled among the Georgia pines on the peaceful five-acre grounds, this is a place to slow down and reconnect. Spend your evenings around the fire pit, enjoy catch-and-release fishing at the pond, visit our resident ducks, relax beneath the covered dock, or simply sip your morning coffee while listening to the sounds of nature.

This is part of our growing collection of distinctive accommodations, alongside Grandma's House, The Rad Pad, the Shasta. Each stay celebrates a different chapter of American travel and camping history, giving guests a reason to return and experience something new.

Whether you're exploring Georgia's coast, escaping for a peaceful weekend, or searching for a stay that's anything but ordinary, this blends authentic vintage craftsmanship with modern comforts for an unforgettable retro camping experience.
