The hotel itself is great. We like the art deco style and charm. The restaurants were really good. I had reserved two rooms in both of them were very large and very nice.The only problem that we encountered was a very unsafe parking situation and the manager was hostile about trying to resolve the issue with us. BEWARE the parking structure located on the grounds is not safe. I had read in a prior review about cars being broken into. The solution was to park in their open lot. When we arrived, the doorman told us not to park in the structure, but to park in the open lot because of break-ins. We did. The next day a guest was at the desk requesting help because his car had been broken into. He had glass everywhere. We were highly concerned, but kept our car in the open lot. The next morning we had a note from the manager telling us to move our car into the parking structure or it would be towed. His explanation was he wanted to keep the open lot available for people coming to their bar or for brunch. When we protested that the hotel should be doing something to make the parking structure available their response was “there are break-ins of cars all over Milwaukee.” We refused to park in the dangerous parking structure and instead parked on the street. Fortunately, our car was not broken into. The Hotel has got to get this problem fixed with security, cameras, or security guards in the parking structure.

Late check out hassles.

Stayed multiple times. Nice place. Only issue I keep running into is I always pay for late checkout at either 1 or 3pm instead of 11am. And every time, EVERY time, with the do not disturb sign on the door, and with my late checkout prepaid for and in their system, I have cleaning personnel knocking on my door at 10, 11,12, 1 oclock. This last stay, I had 3 cleaning personnel knock on my door before my checkout, then 1 hotel staffer ask me if I was leaving soon while I was on my way to get a coffee, and then a hotel manager with a walkie talkie knocking on my door at 1:30pm with an attitude telling me I need to leave, when my check out wasn't until 3pm. that late check out information is easily available to them. So, get your stuff together in that regard Ambassador folks. I didn't pay an extra $75 for late checkout EVERY stay so I could be hassled and harrassed by staff and management all day. Also, they only have 2 elevators and one of them was broken for our entire stay. Guess I'll take the stairs.

I loved the pre-check-in. I loved the option for a pot of coffee to be delivered to the room at a specific time in the morning. It was super convenient and great location to go see the concert at the rave.

Thanks but NO Thanks!!

Our stay was just a blah! The light system was awful being on a master. The light on the nightstand didn’t work at all. The TV kept turning on all night like an haunted room, until I called the front desk then they advised me to unplug the tv at 2:30-3 am. There was less than a quarter roll of toilet paper when we arrived! The sink handle in the washroom fell off. I will never pay $300 to stay a night in your hotel again! Everything was an add on especially the unsafe garage where the Ambassador van was sitting with the window smashed out. The other vehicles that had not been towed having a pound of dirt & dust on it with people making graphic comments & sexual graffiti gestures on it for my minor to see and understand. Absolutely appalling.
