This was my first time staying at Hotel Lotus Kansas City, and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s a great place—clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. The front desk staff were warm, welcoming, and professional. I’d definitely stay here again the next time I’m in town!

There were many groups starting here and breakfast was busy but it was still relatively quiet. One thing to note when traveling between seasons is that the air conditioner had not yet been turned on and it was hot at night. They did give us a fan but it wasn’t enough. We have stayed here before and will come back.

A bit of good and not so good

The hotel was clean overall. The room was clean and bed semi-comfortable. The area is very safe, well located and accessible. Lots of food options close by. The only real complaint is that the decor and furnishings are very outdated. Lots of dark heavy wood furnishings in the room. Bathroom very small and needs an upgrade. Lighting in the room is poor and there are no usb ports anywhere. If you need tech options to do some work, especially in your room, this is not the place for you! The breakfast buffet was the usual stuff, but again, the area furnishings need an upgrade. The front desk staff was friendly, but not anything special. If you enjoyed staying at a Howard Johnsons in the 70s, you would love this place. If you are more into modern conveniences and inspiring decor, then not the place for you!

The toilet ran all night long. And barely flushed. Could not control the a.c. unit. Was 75 degrees and would notchange no matter what we set it to. Pool was closed from health department. Which is why i chose the hotel in the first place. 4 days to get a refund on 50 deposit.
