Pleasant

Signs of wear and tear on end tables and cabinets but overall, a good and pleasant stay. Sheets, towels, utensils and the cottage as a whole were clean and comfortable. The gas fireplace in the cottage and the gas fire pit on property were easy to turn on ( just flip a switch) and a nice cozy touch. The butterfly sanctuary is a 4 to 5 min walk away, but be careful, the neighborhood is nice and safe but there are no defined sidewalks.

Clean and comfortable stay. Small kitchen, fireplace and pet friendly. Very quiet and a short walk to the beach trail and Point Pinos lighthouse.

Stayed for three nights, the room was nice and clean. It was off season so the parking lot was easy to find in front of our room every night. Walking distance to the beach, lighthouse and tide pools. There is a cute little restaurant next door that had coffee, ice cream and also served hot dogs but we went for morning coffees and ice cream. The down town area is also a quick 3 minute drive with lots of restaurants and cute little shops. Very conveniently located and peaceful. Ooh and there were lots of deer in the area which was very cute to see. We would stay in this Pacific Grove area again when visiting Monterey Bay.

Bh. Dog Friendly, Not Cat Friendly

Using the Hotels.com app I filtered my hotel choices to find pet friendly placed for my cat to stay at. Unfortunately this hotel has long lists of pet prices making one think that cats are included. The dog only indication is only mentioned at the very end of a long description hard to find when booking using your phone. Although I accepted that this was a dog only hotel at check-in when I mentioned that I had a cat and was told it wasn’t allowed, the receptionist kept telling me what the consequences would be if I put my cat inside. I told him I would keep my cat in my RV and he still was rude to me explaining that the email reminder clearly stated that it was dog only; this is actually not true, as it mentions only the various pet prices based on pounds implying that cats would be allowed. Rather than being rude to a customer, it would be great if the service one claims to provide was given instead and receptionists were more aware of the information they are giving to customers. There are far more nicer and cozier places than here to stay in Pacific Grove and Monterey.

Best value for PG.

Very good value for this location. Close to asilomar and downtown PG, The Bagel Bakery, and all the tourist areas in Monterey like cannery row and the wharf are not far at all and this Inn is a tucked away hidden little gem where you see deer and the beach is very close but it’s away largely from the big tourist spots and there was no issue with parking. This is a great place for couples or a family who likes to be in a less chaotic place than say lovers point. Asilomar is a great beach to go have breakfast on the rocks and watch the breakers or sunset.
