Located next to Barfleur (1Km), a tiny fishing port from the Val de Saire, this house is facing the sea at only 10 minutes walking on the beach from Barfleur. Inside paintings have been renewed in 2014. The bedrooms have been totally refurnished in 2016. It provides a 20 m direct access to the beach and an incredible view on the sea.

For 9 to 10 persons (total rented surface around 200 square meters):
Ground floor:
- 1 large living room (45 square meters) with a fireplace. Baby chair is added.
- 1 kitchen fully furnished : gas and electricity cooker, Dishes and plates washing machine, oven, fridge (with freezer) and all kind of new dishes are available
- 1 Bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilets. It also includes a washing machine

First Floor:
- 1 large bedroom with 2 double bed (x 140 cm) country view
- 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed (x140cm) with sea view a baby bed is provided if necessary.
- 1 double bedroom with 1 double bed (x140cm) with sea view
- Another bed is available on the landing in front of the bedrooms
- additional WC + wash basin on the first floor.

An outside BBQ with table and chairs is available.

Quirky and quiet

If you want your holiday house to be immaculate, minimalist and stylish, don’t stay here. If you like comfort, homeliness and books, do stay here. We loved it. Especially coming home from a long walk on the beach to an old style log fire, and tea with a slice of Louisa’s amazing apple cake. But what makes Joel’s place so special is its location. We would certainly come back - next time with the grandkids.

A charming cottage

A charming well equipped cottage ideal for those who want peace and tranquility with a superb ever changing sea view. The Harbour town of Barfleur with its bars and restaurants is reachable along a coastal path ( although it took me a bit longer than the 10 minutes achieved by previous guests) It is also possible to walk via the road which I found a fair bit quicker but nowhere near as pretty. The handling of our booking was exemplary from start to finish. With a warm wellcome from Louisa who was readily available Who was readily available to provid help should it be needed' All in all a delightful stay and one we would hope to repeat.

Excellent location, beautiful view and kind, caring hosts

Our family had a very nice stay in this house. The location is unbeatable with a beach right outside of the front lawn. The hosts were very helpful and kind - we loved the delicious apple cake that Louisa baked for us! The children really enjoyed the toys and the adults found quite a few interesting books to look through in the house’s extensive collection. It all fit with the antique furniture, clocks and decorations that make this house truly unique!

A very special seaside retreat

We had a delightful week staying at Joel Kopp's atmospheric and relaxing house by the sea in Montfarville. From the moment we walked through the door we knew that we were in for a very enjoyable time and we were not to be disappointed. Louisa was on hand to greet us and had even baked us a delicious apple cake. She was a great help to us throughout our stay. The house is very comfortable with a large open sitting room, and three spacious bedrooms, two of which overlook the beach and sea. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good shower room. A special feature is the 15th century fireplace in the sitting room which gives the house a wonderfully historic flavour. We spent a lot of the time sitting on the beach in front of the house, going for walks along the coast, and enjoying the peace and quiet of the house and garden. We will certainly return as it is a very special seaside retreat with a unique atmosphere.

Superlage (in Vorsaison) mit EnttÀuschungen

Das Haus punktet eindeutig nur durch seine Lage - die bezahlten 200 qm (lt. Projektbeschreibung) konnten wir nicht bewohnen, da der Vermieter das Haus teilt und die 2. HĂ€lfte nicht zur VerfĂŒgung stellt. Außerdem besteht das 2. Badezimmer nur aus einer Toilette mit Waschbecken. Ein diesbezĂŒglicher Briefwechsel mit dem Vermieter endete damit, dass er angab, die 2. HĂ€lfte des Hauses nur ab 6 Personen zu öffnen. Da wir nur 2 Personen seien, wĂŒrde der Rest uns doch genĂŒgen. Seine Housekeeperin allerdings teilte uns mit, dass er diesen Teil des Hauses noch nie geöffnet habe. Es seien auch schon 12 Personen im Haus gewesen ! Und das mit 1 Dusche !!! Er drohte uns auch damit, dass er uns eine schlechte Bewertung geben wĂŒrde, wenn wir negativ ĂŒber das Haus schreiben wĂŒrden und sein letzter Satz lautete: hoffentlich sehe ich Sie nie wieder ! (Briefwechsel liegt vor) Zwei Tage vor unserer Abreise bezog seine Tochter mit Freunden die gesperrte HaushĂ€lfte, fĂŒr die ich aber bezahlt habe (siehe 200 qm) Von der Housekeeperin haben wir die schriftliche BestĂ€tigung, dass wir das Haus sauber und ohne BeschĂ€digungen verlassen haben. Die in der Beschreibung erwĂ€hnte Veranda befindet sich auf der gesperrten Hausseite, ansonsten gibt es nur einen ĂŒberdachten Hauseingang. Der erwĂ€hnte Grill war völlig verrostet und auf Grund eines großen Lochs nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Der Sonnenschirm war defekt und lag verdreckt neben anderem Schrott unter einem Dach neben dem Haus. Es gab keine Sitzkissen fĂŒr die erhitzten PlastikstĂŒhle im Garten. (Fotos liegen vor ) Das Haus ist auf Grund der Nut und Feder - BrettwĂ€nde extrem hellhörig Dieses Haus kann man niemandem empfehlen.

Traumhafte Lage

Die Lage vom Haus ist einfach ein Traum. Die Sauberkeit war leider nicht so doll. Am Geschirr, Besteck und Teller konnten wir noch nachvollziehen, was die Vormieter oder wer auch immer gegessen haben. Ein schwarzer Hund war scheinbar auch dabei. Haben am erst Tag einfach was reine gemacht und dann war’s gut. Da gibts schlimmeres. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter und auch vor Ort war sehr sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles in allem ein Traum Urlaub. Kann ich nur empfehlen

Wunderschön!

Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage. Wir haben eine schöne Woche verbracht und werden auf jeden Fall wieder buchen. Unsere Hunde liefen sehr gerne im großen eingezĂ€unten Garten herum und spielten besonders gerne am Strand direkt vor dem Haus in den Wellen. Bayeux und Mont Saint-Michel zu besuchen war einfach und vom Haus aus erreichbar. Die Gegend ist sehr malerisch und bietet viele Dinge zu sehen und zu tun, insbesondere all die schönen BauernmĂ€rkte, die jeden Tag stattfinden. JoĂ«l war ein toller Gastgeber, unkompliziert und hat alle Fragen, die wir hatten, sofort beantwortet.

Situation au top. Maison trĂšs vieillotte, en dessous des attentes.

La situation est exeptionelle , les pieds dans l’eau. La maison en elle mĂȘme n’offre que peu de convivialitĂ©. Un fourbi indescriptible rĂšgne dans la maison, vieux livres remplis de poussiĂšres dans tous les coins, vielles couvertures recouvrent les fauteuils et un faible Ă©clairage rend le sĂ©jour cafardeux en soirĂ©e. Difficile de maintenir une telle maison dans un bon Ă©tat de propretĂ©. Le propriĂ©taire impose un contrat hors site Abritel sous menace de vous facturer les frais qu’il doit payer au site. Le contrat est standard et correcte, la pratique l’est moins! Bref vous louĂ© juste une situation,. LĂ  maison n’est pas au standard actuel de location.

Traumhafter Urlaub !

Wir waren fĂŒr zwei Wochen in diesem tollen Ferienhaus. Die Lage ist wirklich traumhaft, direkt am Atlantik. Von dem GrundstĂŒck aus konnten wir aufs Meer schauen. Die Bucht direkt vor der TĂŒr ist sehr schön, wobei dort an der Stelle Bucht an Bucht ist, so dass wir auch gerne mal zur nĂ€chsten gegangen sind, vor allem bei unserem tĂ€glichen Abendspaziergang. Wir fanden es sehr gut, dass das GrundstĂŒck recht groß und vor allem eingezĂ€unt ist, wenn man mit Vierbeiner anreist, ein super Vorteil ! Bei unserer Anreise wurden wir von Louisa mit selbstgebackenem Kuchen empfangen und die ganze Zeit dort von ihr betreut. Wenn wir ein Anliegen hatten, war sie oder ihr Mann innerhalb von 10 min zur Stelle. Die Einrichtung ist eher als antik zu beschreiben, als modern, passt aber sehr gut zum Haus. In der unteren Etage befindet sich ein Bad , die KĂŒche und das Wohnzimmer. Oben gibt es drei Doppelzimmer und auf dem Flur oben stehen drei Einzelbetten. Oben gibt es eine weitere Toilette. Wir fanden den Urlaub sehr schön und das Haus fĂŒr unsere Zwecke ideal ! Vielen Dank fĂŒr zwei Wochen Traumurlaub !

Super Lage, schreckliches Haus

Um es kurz zu fassen: Die Möbel sind weitestgehend kaputt und schmuddelig. Das Bad, besonders die Dusche muss Saniert werden(kaputte Bodenfliesen, Schimmel etc. . Toilettensitz löst sich auf. Geschirr und Inventar war unsauber und unhygienisch. Gartenmöbel waren kaputt und standen in einem offenen Schuppen in dem MĂŒll und Schrott liegt. Der Garten war voller Glasscherben. Die EingangstĂŒr wurde mal aufgebrochen und nur notdĂŒrftig mit einem kaputten Schiebeschloss repariert. Die HĂ€lfte der TĂŒren im Haus gehen nicht richtig zu. Der Boden ist fies und löst sich teilweise ab. Ich könnte noch ewig so weiter schreiben. Insgesamt ist alles kaputt, alt und unhygienisch. Wie haben ĂŒber Fewo Beschwerde mit Fotos eingereicht, es wurde nichts unternommen. Wir haben unseren Urlaub 7 Tage frĂŒher abgebrochen.

Phantastische Lage direkt am Strand, schöner Garten, Haus mit speziellem Flair.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Montfarville sehr genossen. FĂŒr Hundebesitzer wichtig: der Garten ist rundum sicher eingezĂ€unt und man kann direkt vor der HaustĂŒr wunderbar spazieren gehen. Wir waren außerhalb der Saison da und so konnten die Hunde auch frei laufen. Im Haus ist es ein wenig dunkel und die Dusche könnte bei Gelegenheit mal renoviert werden. Ansonsten ist alles da was man fĂŒr einen Ferienaufenthalt braucht und der Charme des Hauses trĂ€gt zu einem tollen Urlaub bei. Wir wurden von Louisa sehr nett empfangen, mit selbst gebackenem Kuchen, Cidre und frischen Rosen auf dem Tisch. So empfehlen wir dies Haus gern weiter an Menschen mit Hunden, die auch in ihrem Feriendomizil den Flair der Normandie spĂŒren möchten.

Ideal zum Entspannen

Das Haus liegt direkt am Strand und hat einen großen Garten, in dem sich auch unsere beiden Hunde sehr wohl fĂŒhlten. Die Einrichtung ist zweckmĂ€ĂŸig, KĂŒche und Bad haben alles, was man im Urlaub benötigt. Das Wohnzimmer mit dem großen Tisch ist bequem. Im oberen Stock sind drei Schlafzimmer, zwei davon mit Blick auf die Bucht. Am Strand sind Hunde auch ohne Leine erlaubt und da das Haus in einer Sackgasse steht, ist es sehr ruhig (Mitte Juni 2018). Ab und zu kamen Einheimische zum Baden und Fischen an den Strand oder es gingen SpaziergĂ€nger vorbei. FußlĂ€ufig wĂ€re Barfleur sicher in 20 Minuten am Meer entlang erreichbar. FĂŒr acht Personen eine herrliche Lage, um das Meer zu genießen und ein schöner Standort fĂŒr AusflĂŒge auf der Halbinsel Cotentin. Danke an Louisa, die das Haus bewirtschaftet und in der NĂ€he wohnt. Kein deutsches Fernsehprogramm, aber wer braucht das im Urlaub. Handyempfang 4G, WLAN-SchlĂŒssel funktionierte zwar nicht, hĂ€tte aber auf Anfrage sicher nochmals eingerichtet werden können. Wenn wir in dieser Ecke wieder Urlaub machen und das Haus frei ist, werden wir es bestimmt wieder buchen :)

Maison trÚs bien située. Emplacement idéal pour bains de mer, randonnées ou farniente.

La semaine a été des plus agréables. L'accueil de Louisa est chaleureux. La maison a vraiment une ùme. On s'y sent bien. Les promenades en randonnée sont proches. Les bains de mer sont possibles le matin et le soir quand il n'y a plus personne; un luxe! La douche chaude est à 3 minutes si la mer est froide. Le grand calme la nuit. Et si le soleil n'est pas au rendez-vous, bouquins et jeux de société compensent prÚs de la cheminée!
