The staycation was nice

The stay was nice. I had a mini staycation with a few kids in my family. The house is family friendly with plug covers and plenty of space.The house is a charming and cozy older home with a few modern touches. The age of the home shows in a few minor ways, but all together it’s a nice house. In reality it was cuter in person than in the pictures! The property was clean. A minor issue was something spilled in the oven causing excess smoke while cooking, but I was able to get it out. I appreciated the motion detector lights outside as I was unpacking the car after dark. The one major hiccup I had was the check in process. I did not receive the code to the property. I was not able to get in until an hour plus after check in. However, the host was apologetic and very nice. At the time it was a little frustrating, but understandable as it was Christmas weekend and most people are busy during that time. The host responded quickly to messages leading up to my stay. All in all the stay was nice and I loved the house.

Charming house for family reconnection

We came together in Montgomery for my cousin's baby shower, and this house was so much preferable to a hotel because it allowed us to be together and catch up over a relaxing family weekend. The home is very cute, and a wonderful remodel of an older crafstman cottage. Some reviews were misleading, I believe, because of a lack of appreciation for old houses and what it takes to bring them into the modern age. We are from New Orleans, so we appreciated the charming details, crown mouldings, transoms over the doorways, the old tubs and windows. Nicely refurbished and very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed safe. It is a working-class neighborhood, with some homes in less good repair, but most yards were well maintained. My 11 year old son really enjoyed the foosball table, and we all loved the screened in patio for sitting outside with a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The wi-fi was not consistent throughout the house, and we could not log on to some services in the back bedroom. I'm sure that can be easily remedied. Some notes that would make the home more comfortable for elderly travelers: Handrails at the front steps and grab bars in at least one bathroom would have been appreciated. Two of our party were 80 years old and the lack of those safety items was concerning for them (although there were no issues to report; everyone came home safe). Thank you for a lovely stay. We will come again.
