It is situated approximately 2km from Mouilleron En Pareds which has a bakers, chemist,supermarket,banks,restaurants and a bar. The property has been awarded 3 keys by CléVacances for its level of comfort and facilities which includes a large kitchen/dining room, spacious living room with exposed beams, large master bedroom with an en suite shower room, 2 further bedrooms, separate bathroom with washbasin and a separate toilet.Outside there is a private entrance,parking and garden. The swimming pool, sun terrace and sun loungers are for the exclusive use of the gite guests, while a second shaded patio area provides outside dining with table and chairs plus a gas barbecue.There is also a games room with mini snooker, table tennis and darts board. Absolutely fabulous stay with Roland and Bex hosting. Gorgeous peaceful location, a 25 minute walk or short drive to get baguettes or groceries, what a perfect fortnight. The pool was so refreshing in the heat, and Bex and Roland did everything to make our stay relaxing and comfortable, including booking us a restaurant one night. Wonderful days out to Vouvant and the Donjon tower nearby, as well as the windmill walk. The table under the walnut tree was cool and ideal for meals and games. Just a perfect break. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had a great time. Myself, wife and 3 boys. (7,10,13)Lovely quiet location, nice gardens in the gite and fantastic pool. Bonus of a games room with table tennis and table football.The gite had everything we needed well stocked kitchen for cookin, 2 bathrooms etc. Property owner was really nice, good to chat to and has plenty of tips on what to do in the area.Highly recommend for families

Tranquil holiday

This is the perfect place to chill out. Sitting in the garden or by the side of the pool enjoying the peace and quiet was so relaxing. The welcome we received from Roland and Bex was great , especially after a long journey.The property was perfect for our dog as well as the garden is nice and secure. Our only gripe was that we couldn't stay longer but we had to go home and back to work !

The gite and its location is excellent for those who enjoy country side, woodland and riverside walks. Picturesque towns and villages within short travelling distance. Wonderful Gite

We had a wonderful stay at Le Gite Bernerie. It was exactly as described… a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy family time. There is so much space in the garden to enjoy badminton and other garden games, the pool was perfect and the games room was great for when it got too hot in the sun. There is so much space inside the gite too. The setting is so quiet and relaxing… perfect place for a break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Great break

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Gite. Superb pool which our boys loved, the games room is great too. The place is perfectly position for great walks with our dog and loads of cycle rides with the boys - cycle to the water towers, the windmills and further afield all on really safe country lanes with next to no traffic The Gite also has a great garden big enough for a bit of football, badminton and generally just messing about in. The Gite is within a 10 minute cycle to the local baker for bread in the morning and a local mini super market for essentials and the nearest village is lovely for a wander about. There are a couple of slightly bigger towns with super markets, restaurants, etc. Vendee is beautiful and we intend to return to do some more exploring - however the Gite is great for a chill out if you don’t want to do that. The hosts Roland & Becs were super helpful throughout including organising our visit to the vets a couple of days before we travelled back home. I would highly recommend staying at the Gite. N

Family holiday

As a family of three generations we spent 6 days in this beautiful holiday home. The barn has been beautifully restored and has so many appliances that you want for nothing. The heated swimming pool was a real added bonus. The accommodation was rural and we really enjoyed the tranquility but equally it is really well placed in east reach of many major attractions. The games room was a real hit. Roland and Bex are ideal hosts. Always responsive both throughout the booking stage and our stay. Thank you Be. And Roland for all your helpfulness and kindness to us while we were there. A much enjoyed holiday everything was beautiful in every way.

Superb property

A lovely gite in peaceful surroundings. Perfect for a relaxing stay. Used the pool every day - Roland made sure it was ready for use, including cleaning and topping up the water level during our stay. Lovely to either sit around the pool or under the shade of the walnut tree when it got a bit too hot for us! Roland and Becks were very welcoming and gave recommendations for the area (do try the O Clem restaurant in the nearby village and the Mouette Brewery restaurant), as well as a welcome pack of provisions when we checked in. They were there when we needed, but not intrusive in any way. The gite was incredibly well stocked and very comfortable. Our teenage boys (19 & 17) enjoyed the games room as well as the pool, and there was plenty of room in the garden to set up a badminton net. It was also useful to have wi-fi for the evenings. We would highly recommend this gite and hope to go back!

Lovely property

We had an amazing stay, hosts were really helpful and very friendly. The house was well equipped, clean and beautifully decorated. The pool was fab, our children appreciated the pool floats and games room as well. Our family had a fantastic stay here. Puy Du Fou was only half an hour away, and we enjoyed 2 days out there- really superb attraction. Would definitely recommend this stay!

Nothing short of amazing

I don't now where to start. The Gite is absolutely amazing, I have stayed in many, many properties in France, but this is hands down the best. The way the Gite is laid out is ingenius, the furnishings are excellent, everything works, the WiFi is strong, the pool is fantastic, the garden and surrounding area is perfection itself. Most of all, theres Roland and Becks, the most fantastic owners you could possibly hope for, incredibly welcoming, always on hand when needed, whilst giving guests total privacy when not, and of course, I couldn't forget the Red squirrels, who absolutely melted our hearts. Do not hesitate, if this Gite is available, book it, don't even consider others, and I can assure you, no matter how long you stay for, it won't be long enough. We will definitely be back

Lovely secluded getaway

My family and I were desperate to get away this summer (Pandemic Summer 2020!) and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. The cottage was spacious and well furnished, the private pool was wonderful - heated, cleaned every morning, gated and able to be locked when not in use. There was lots of garden space for running and the living area had plenty of space for my three small children (5.5, 2.5, 10m) to play. The views from the living area were gorgeous, as were the quiet walks around the local area. There is a bakery only 5 minutes drive away, and a huge local supermarket a short drive as well. Roland and his partner were wonderful hosts - very helpful and even shared fresh courgettes from their garden! We were very bervous about travelling during the pandemic, but the stay was perfectly private and secluded and we are so pleased we went!

A fantastic stay...

We stayed at La Bernerie at the beginning of August and counted ourselves lucky we were still able to make the trip despite the global situation. The time we spent there was fantastic! We visited nowhere, other than the local supermarkets, did nothing and had a wonderful, peaceful time with great weather and fabulous hosts. The pool is spot on, the games room a brilliant additon although the weather was so good we hardly used it. The gite is large, spacious and comfortable with all the necessary items you require. We took less clothes because we knew we could wash them there, bonus. All in all it was a fantastic stay and very welcome after what 2020 has thrown at us. Our hosts were gracious, very friendly and very informative. We will definitley return.

Peaceful hideaway in a great location

We visited La Bernerie for a week at the end of October and had the most wonderful week. After a long, wet and delayed journey we arrived to a lovely warm gite, Roland met us and explained how everything worked and then we explored. The kids absolutely loved the games room, which was a godsend, they got up early and played and went in there every evening whilst I was preparing dinner, with family competitions after - brilliant fun! Roland kept the pool heated for us too, it was much warmer in the water than outside and the kids loved it. I can imagine in summer it is an amazing place to relax. Whilst in the area we visited the Marais Poitevin, the Mervent Vouvant forest and Puy du Fou - all within an hours' drive maximum. The Grand Parc, Puy du Fou is something else! I know we were lucky because it was end of season and a cold wet day so we didn't have to queue and saw a lot, but the shows were extraordinary and if you are in the area it is a must. The gite is very rural, so peaceful is an understatement, it is pitch black at night so take a torch if you want to go outside. It is a fantastic place to escape from the hustle and bustle, there is everything you need, including good wifi and English satellite TV, a filter coffee machine etc, but it's not full of mod-cons, it's exactly what you should expect from a beautiful rural holiday home.

Relaxing rural retreat

The charming gite is located in peaceful French countryside, a pleasant 23 minute walk from the local village. Although, rural, the gite is not isolated and the owner lives nearby. The private pool is a wonderful place to escape the heat and the spacious, well-equipped, accommodation offers everything you need.

Wonderful comfortable hospitality in a beautiful setting.

This accommodation is in a beautifully renovated barn. The old beams and character of the place are just wonderful and the house has all the comforts and mod cons you would want. The swimming pool is a wonderful bonus and it has really made the place a destination. We of course visited the amazing Puy du Four for two days and this was a wonderful place to rest and recover afterwards. Our hosts generously left a lovely welcome pack with local goodies which we thouroughly enjoyed. The countryside surrounding the house is stunning. I would gladly return for a wonderful holiday again.

Lovely quiet rural retreat

Roland and Tracey were as friendly and as welcoming as always. We haven't been to the gite for 7 years and everything was as good as we remembered. The whole family had a fantastic time karting, horse riding , relaxing by the pool, and to top it off The Tour de France started from the nearby village which was a spectacle to see. The gite is clean and spacious with everything you could need. Highly recommended.

Lovely homely gite

Lovely gite in a very nice quiet countryside area. Facilities were superb even though it was March and obviously we didn’t use the swimming pool. All the garden chairs tables loungers were in the games room ready for use Roland and Tracey were super hosts. They left us a welcome pack of milk eggs and wine and during our stay brought us a jar of local honey Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay here to anyone.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce gîte très confortable et très bien aménagé ! Accueil chaleureux et sympathique des propriétaires. Nous reviendrons pour profiter des environs et de la piscine car nous ne sommes pas restés assez longtemps (visite au Puy du Fou). Je recommande vivement ce gîte.
