The staff were friendly and polite and the room was clean but had this odd and off-putting smell that made it hard to tolerate the room for long periods of time. Once again the room was clean and well maintained. I just had a tough time getting past the smell. I even bought air freshener and sprayed liberally but it was minimally effective. For the price it met my expectations except for that smell. Two days later and I can still smell it.

This appears to be a family run hotel. The folks at the front desk as well as all other non-family employees are way above average nice and friendly. The breakfast was GREAT best biscuits and gravy I have ever had at a hotel and the good make your own waffles 😊. For a lower cost hotel it was clean and neat. We would recommend this to all but our snobbiest friends as a good place to stay if you are coming to the New River Gorge, very centrally located for all the main US Park visitor centers. Travel Tip - Do not miss the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine !!

A property that has seen better days, I am sure. That however, does not excuse the condition of the bathroom, which was dirty. The bed was clean and relatively comfortable. This respondent does not mind a little wear around the edges, but does mind dirt (which had apparently been there for some time) around the edges.

The building was in poor condition. While the room was relatively clean, the ceiling in the bathroom had severe water damage (soft to the touch), and the room smelled like cigarette smoke (it was supposed to be a non-smoking room). It is a pet-friendly hotel, however there was nowhere safe or convenient to walk our dog. The patches of grass that were available were severely overgrown and not well-kept.

This place is cheap and you get what you pay for. If you want cheap and just a place to sleep on a trip fine. If you expect comfort and good condition and quiet- pay more and go elsewhere.

We had a 2 night stay with 2 rooms. The first night we got in late and upon entering the room there was a smell of mildew or mold in the room. It was late so we just turned on the AC thinking it would help filter out the smell. It didn’t work. The next morning we were used to it until we left and came back. It hit us like a wall. They said some of the AC units had leaked recently and probably got the carpets wet. We asked and were accommodated for a room switch. When we told them we were out of the old rooms they said “okay, now we can rent them tonight for other guests.” I was shocked they didn’t feel the need to fix the issue before someone else had to go through the same thing.

This is our second time staying here as we enjoy it.The young lady at the service desk was very nice quick and got us in fast . Hot breakfast is a welcome treat .They have an indoor pool. Greatbplace to stay .

There was 100 dollar deposit that wasn’t documented to me before check in! We walked in and the place smelled like someone just smoked weed in the hall way. The shower was so nasty kids was afraid to get and shower. Pool didn’t smell like no chlorine was in it at all!

We didn’t expect anything grand, and we really just needed a place to sleep for the night. It wasn’t great, but also wasn’t the worst place we have stayed. I know it has to be hard to do “upgrades” while there are guests, but my whole party ended up with a headache after having to walk through the trim being painted in the hallway. For the price, I would stay again. We didn’t have any major issues and there were not creepy people lingering around. The bathroom could’ve used a little bit more cleaning time, but nothing a flush couldn’t fix! Breakfast was great! Waffles, bagels, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, etc.
