Extremely Disappointed — Poor Cleanliness and Unsafe Conditions I rarely leave reviews, but my recent stay at this hotel was unacceptable. The comforter on my bed was burnt, which is both unsanitary and unprofessional. I was shocked that something so visibly damaged was still placed in a guest room. In addition, the stairwells and common areas were dirty, and trash was overflowing throughout the property. It gave the entire place a neglected and poorly managed feel. This is not the experience I expected or paid for. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the cleanliness and quality control issues immediately. I will not be returning and don’t recommend this hotel.

Terrible communication with virtual check in

I booked this hotel because it is next door to where my cousin was staying and I wanted to be there for her wedding. I never even stayed in this place one night. They have a total virtual check in.I was never made aware of any check in process when i spoke to someone on the phone earlier in the day to let them know I would be arriving late. I got an email saying I will need a physical key and I would get information on retrieving it. They did not tell me how I would receive this information. I never received the information when arriving at 12 am in the morning there is no clerk no way to communicate and we had to find another place to stay.Upon our late arrival we spoke with a guest that also had issues with check in. I called and spoke with someone the following day and they put the blame on me and would not refund although I had all emails and texts they sent and none of it had any information that I needed to check in. They sent me the information a day later. I disputed the credit card charges and did receive my refund. I am glad now that we did not stay here. Being next door at my cousins place and seeing this place from above it did not look like a comfortable or well kept place to stay. The pool was very dirty looking. Definitely would not recommend this place. If they do not keep any clerks or anyone available who would you go to for any issues or anything you would need during a stay there? This hotels operations are inefficient and lack proper oversight.

Cheap and run down hotel; good location

Location is great; right on beach! Rooms were clean and we didn't see any bugs. Beds were comfortable. However, there was no deadbolt on the door. Room had no hangers at all and stairs up to room looked like they were about to rust through! There was no cleaning service at all during the stay. Shower was terrible! Pool was green and murky. I asked for a late check out and was told we could have one if I left a 5 star review on Google and sent them a screen shot. I declined since that is unethical. Overall, not a good experience.

Online check in was not so good. The room’s electronic keypad had dead batteries so I had to message check in group and get more instructions on how to enter the room. Once inside room was ok, A/C worked great! The pool at the property was in poor condition and was very dirty when we went to swim. We decided against it and waited for pool cleaning people to clean things up. There was no shade poolside and no umbrellas for tables. There were also broken pool chairs lying around on the pool deck area.

Pros: great location and easy access to beach. Hotel has warning that parking is limited, but we were able to park right at our room for both nights we stayed. Beds were decently comfortable. Appliances in room had cute retro vibe. Had DVR and good quality tv in room which was nice for the kids. Cons: Not as clean as I was hoping for, but you get what you pay for. Found a few dead roaches around the room, but no signs of bedbugs or live bugs. No front desk so there are no workers on site, which lead to people being rowdy and partying at night. Never felt unsafe while I was there, but it was hard to sleep at night due to the noise. Pool was very dirty which was disappointing as I had kids excited to swim in it. The floor and sides of pool were slimy and green. No elevator access, so if you’re assigned to the 2nd or 3rd floor you have to climb at least 2 sets of stairs but they warn about that. Overall, it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great either. If I didn’t have the extra money to spend on something nicer next time we’re visiting then I could stay there again, but I’d prefer better.

Room was big and sparsely decorated but clean which was awesome; however, if you want to get some sleep, you’re better off to stay somewhere else. First it was the occupants around and above us slamming doors, arguing, and playing loud music. Next were the fireworks until the fire department arrived. Not to mention the barking dogs, and the next door neighbors TV blasting at full volume. Then finally, about 5am, it quieted down. There’s no staff at the hotel as it’s all virtual so if anything goes down, it’s the guest’s responsibility to contact authorities and try to get a hold of an employee. I’ve stayed here before when the front desk was staffed and the experience was great which is why I booked again. Unfortunately, this isn’t my jam and we won’t be back.

Only assistance I got was a message that someone would attend to the issue in the morning, knowing that we are checking out next morning. 👎 Mermaid Inn. This Mermaid is out!

This place is terrible. There is no staff anywhere to do anything. I mean not even a desk staff. There were parties all nite, so loud it was impossible to sleep. Do not waste your money!

Never received info for what room we were in or an entry code (they have no front desk). Bathroom sink was clogged and unusable. AC was loud, but worked well. Ample parking. Swimming pool was the dirtiest hotel pool I've ever seen. NO maid service the entire time we were there (NO new towels, NO trash removal). Such a great location yet a miserable overall experience.

I am a frequent guest at this property, and I have always had a pleasant experience with the staff. However, my most recent stay was quite the opposite. I was next to a room with four dogs that barked almost throughout my stay, creating the atmosphere of a dog kennel. I contacted the property to express my concern, but they said there was nothing they could do for me—not even offer to change my room. To support my complaint, I included three audio recordings as evidence, so there was no question that my concerns were valid. Their only suggestion was to call law enforcement. I believe there were numerous ways they could have addressed the situation, but they completely disregarded my issue. Although I do not expect to be treated differently from other guests, I do expect to be treated with respect, especially as a frequent visitor. I now question whether I will return to the property.
