Unexpected stay
Unexpected stay due to inclement wx conditions. Overall it was clean, outdated a little old furniture, drawers old and rough. Got in very late but was greeted kindly and hassle free. Lighting was very dark on arriving, very bad weather and could be unsafe.
The older lady at the front desk was very rude and she had an attitude and told my husband I didn’t spell my own name correctly and wouldn’t do her job of finding my reservation after I gave her my name and booking #, the shower head was hanging loose out of the wall in our bathroom and when I called for more towels so I could shower before checkout, I was told to walk to the front to get my own towels or wait until 10:30am (30 mins before checkout) to have them brought to me. The place is poorly ran and needs better customer service for sure.
This is the first review I’ve ever been compelled to write. I’ve used hotels.com for the last several years on average around 30 times a year for work and pleasure and will continue to use them! This is a review about the property itself, which was not a good experience but hotels.com helped me resolve the problem quickly. I had reserved a room at the Quality Inn in Lufkin, Tx which I thought was a nonsmoking room. When I got there to check in they said I had reserved a smoking room and they did not have any available non smoking rooms. I agreed to stay in smoking room. When I entered the room I noticed fresh blood stains, dirt, fresh toothpaste and cigarette burns on the linens. After waiting 30 minutes for someone to clean the room the front desk attendant said he would move me to a different room that would inspect together. We entered the room and we both noticed tears in the pillow cases and multiple burns in the linens. I told the front desk attendant just wanted a clean room without cigarette burns in the linens. His response was “this is what you get when you reserve a smoking room.” The attendant proceeded to call the manager and told the manager I was upset with the rooms and that I was taking pictures. The manager told the attendant that I should leave the property without a refund. I left the property and booked a different hotels.com and called customer service to let them know what happened. They immediately refunded the full amount and were very helpful.
