Good layout for large family stay

Pluses: Great location with wide views of the beach/ocean from the main/family room. Ginormous TV. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Minuses: Not a fan of the fake wood floors, but I get why you do it in a rental. The bottom floor/bedrooms were a bit musty/damp smelling.

Place met our needs but fell below expectations especially for the price. Several maintenance issues that had to be addressed during our stay which interrupted our plans and was a bit of an inconvenience. I was also charged an extra, separate charge after being told that the price of the place I had already paid was the TOTAL cost. That was unexpected and VERY disappointing. Other than those issues, everything was fine. I recommend someone put some TLC into this place before next season.

First family OBX stay

Overall, the house is beautiful. From the time that we booked in January there were many beautiful updates throughout the home that made it quite comfortable. It is large and spacious which affords everyone in your party their privacy. Property description states there is a charcoal grill - this should be updated as it is actually propane. We did waste money purchasing charcoal to bring down and then spent an additional fee to swap out the empty propane tank. Plumbing was an issue in one of the restrooms. The toilet was leaking and the office was contacted but nobody ever came to take a look at it. Not an issue since it was still able to be used but sure was glad it wasn’t my water bill. Please take note that if you have anyone in your party with difficulty walking that access to the beach is not easy. You have to either climb the sand dune from the pool which is rather steep or use the public access stairs next to the home. We had a party member who was two months post ankle reconstruction and some senior citizens who struggled greatly getting to the beach. The decks are in desperate need of maintenance. There are many rusty nails sticking out of boards around the pool which is extremely dangerous - especially with younger children. We ended up covering them with sand buckets but for the rental cost nobody should have to worry about such things. Two of the chairs on the decks were badly broken - completely unable to be used - yet remained for someone to potentially get hurt. Luckily, my kids were old enough to know they were broken and not to touch them but younger kids might just climb them out of excitement and get hurt. The blue bench chairs were also rotting slowly and you could hear boards cracking when sitting down so those ended up being rendered useless as well. There is a cracked window on the lower level and a badly damaged ceramic tile near the pool table. We had called after check in to report the issues so as to avoid being charged for them. With outdoor maintenance I have no doubt this will be a premiere vacation home in upcoming years - it just isn’t quite there yet. We would still book again if the price was right but with the price increase I am seeing for 2023 I will likely look elsewhere before committing.

Great location and plenty of room

The property has plenty of room to spread out, we used the main floor for children, 2nd & 3rd floors for adults. 2 large living rooms and tv’s in every bed room. A Ref on the ground floor and wet bar, so everyone could grab stuff for the beach. Decks and outside seating is in need of repairs, but the inside was great with lots of updates. Enjoy the views from the kitchen, watch the waves and dolphins in the am.

Furniture uncomfortable

The resort reality company was very helpful and a good partner. However the home had very uncomfortable furniture there was no where comfortable to sit. The mattresses were very uncomfortable we had to purchase air mattresses and put on the beds for the 2 nights that we decided to stay. The Wi-Fi did not work therefore we could not stream any praught any elecktronicks or television. Basically it was totally disconnected which was not possible for our vacation. It was a working vacation and not being able to connect and then having uncomfortable furnishings forced us to leave after 3 nights.

Wonderful get a way

Home very spacious; disappointing the beach access was covered in sand, but the beachfront was beautiful; some minor repairs also needed, the kitchen stools were all missing bolts so not safe to use, one of the bedroom screens kept fall off track and the grill was too dirty and no propane provided. But otherwise the house was comfortable and amenities good. Thank you for sharing your home our family enjoyed the getaway
