We were seduced by the photos and while the reality was true to the photos and the apartment was pretty large in size for Japan (albeit run down), close to the monorail and the main strip in Naha, the smell of mould and damp in the apartment and complete lack of sufficient ventilation was overwhelming for the duration of our stay. There was black mould in the net curtains in both bedrooms and we just couldn't get rid of the smell. In addition, we booked it for the three bedrooms so that our teenage children would get separate bedrooms, but when we arrived only two doubles had been set up and we had to argue to get the host to agree to supplying bedsheets to set up the second bedroom, which they did eventually, a day late and at an extra cost to us. For these reasons we requested a refund by the host just after arriving, but it was declined, so we were forced to stay. I wouldn't recommend staying in the apartment, unless the intense smell / mould is addressed / treated.
