NEOLD Private House Ancient house with a hearth surrounded by the rich nature of Yoshino
Limited to one group per day, this facility offers a completely private space reminiscent of an Edo-period samurai residence. Here, you can experience what it’s like to be a shogun. Upon entering through the gate, you ’ll find a garden and the main residence—but that’s not all. The property also features an authentic Noh theatre stage—a rarity even in Japan—built exclusively for guests, modelled on the Noh theatres that were constructed within residences during the Edo period. Additionally, NEOLD Private House is a traditional Japanese-style facility featuring a warm, open-air bath lined with cypress planks and a small 3.5-tatami-mat tea room. With an atmosphere where feudal lords and their retainers seem almost ready to appear, you can enjoy a stay that feels like a journey back in time to the Edo period. You can also savour meals prepared by skilled chefs based on Japanese cuisine that incorporates the seasons and culture of Yoshino, Nara, all tailored to the preferences of NEOLD Private House guests. At the ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant) located within our facility, you can enjoy a dining experience with a live, interactive feel at a face-to-face counter table—much like a small izakaya—where you can receive explanations about the dishes directly from the chef and discuss the ingredients. Additionally, in the “Taki-no-Ma” room—featuring a traditional irori hearth—you can savour your meal while relaxing around the hearth and listening to the sound of flowing water in the tranquil surroundings. Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of Yoshino, NEOLD Private House offers a stay brimming with charm. Whether you’re with family, friends, or even travelling alone, you can forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and spend a soothing time gazing at Yoshino’s lush, natural mountains.
