Welcome to the DORA holiday rental.
The apartment is approximately 65 square metres and is located on the ground floor.
It has a bedroom with a double bed (180 cm), a spacious closet, and a smart TV.
The second bedroom is furnished with two single beds (90 cm) and a closet. Upon request, a cot can also be set up so that even the little ones have a cosy place to sleep.
Through a hallway where you can store your jackets and shoes, you’ll reach the bathroom, where towels are already laid out for you.
At the other end of the hallway is the kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, and a drip coffee maker. Here, you can whip up your favourite meals or just spend some cosy time together.
From here, you’ll enter the nicely furnished living room with a comfortable couch that has room for everyone.
There is a lockable storage area (with a power outlet) for e-bikes, bicycles, strollers, etc., in the basement, which is also accessible at ground level via the back of the building.
Großzössen is a small, quiet town south of Leipzig—about 30 km away—that’s always worth a visit. You can stroll through town, visit the zoo, climb the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, and much more.
Lake Hainer is about 2 km away and can be reached on foot, by bike, or by car. The promenade, the harbour, and the beach invite you to linger.
About the name DORA:
There were once two briquette factories in Großzössen that produced lignite briquettes using lignite from the surrounding open-pit mines. The directors of the factories named their respective businesses after their wives’ first names—Dora and Helene.
The building that houses the DORA holiday rental was built in the 1920s on behalf of these briquette factories, “Dora & Helene” Großzössen, to accommodate senior employees of the plants and their families.
Fittingly, the name of the holiday rental was chosen to be DORA.
