Unwanted upgrade that cost me money

Staff was unwilling to help after they gave my room to someone else, forcing me to may an additional $68 for an upgraded room I didn’t ask for. My options were take this room and pay the extra or go find another hotel… The cost of their error should have been a loss for the hotel, not the customer. I have had hotels.com reach out for a refund of the $68 and the hotel refuses. I don’t understand how a large corporation thinks this is acceptable. I am extremely disappointed.

When we got into our suite there was goldfish crumbs in the bedroom on the floor, when we pulled out the sofa bed there was crumbs and chip underneath the sofa. The sofa bed is very thin and only fit one person beside that the pool and outside was very clean and the staffs are very kind.

"I recently stayed at the Staybridge Suites Newark - Fremont Hotel for a weekend getaway and had a positive experience. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the city. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, especially when I needed directions to a local restaurant. The hotel's location was convenient Overall, I would recommend the Staybridge Suites Hotel for its comfortable rooms, convenient location, and friendly staff. The breakfast is also good and breakfast met my expectations.
