This modest lower unit has a lot to offer. Once you park the car, you won’t have to move it for the remainder of your stay! Second, the home has been recently updated inside and out. And last but not least, the price is lower than other oceanfronts due to the parking lot being right out front, even though the sand is mere steps away.
LIVING & DINING
The living area, with cool tile flooring, sofa with chaise, coffee table, side chairs and wall-mounted flat panel TV has ocean views and a view of Balboa Pier. The fireplace has been newly revamped, with blue fireglass for a dazzling display. A roomy dining table and chairs graces the small dining area and there are several bar stools for snacks or quick meals at the counter. The kitchen has tiled floors, brand new granite counters and subway tile back splash, recessed lighting, a pantry and a contemporary hood for better views while you cook.
BED & BATH
The home has three bedrooms, all with wood-look laminate flooring. The master suite has a king bed and tiled en-suite bath with a tub/shower combination. The middle bedroom has a twin and a double bed. The front bedroom has a queen bed. The spacious hall bath also has a tub/shower combination.
• BR 1: Master suite with king bed, en suite bath
• BR 2: Guest bedroom with one twin bed, one double bed, shared hall bath
• BR 3: Guest bedroom with queen bed, shared bath
OUTDOOR SPACE
The rental has limited outdoor space, but then the beach is right out front! A small side deck is large enough for one chair and the gas BBQ. The strip of “patio” in front accommodates several resin chairs, but is not wide enough for a table.
A shared heavy-duty Speed Queen washer and dryer are located in the garage, with one parking space for this unit. There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water for rinsing the sand away.
THE LOCATION
The home is situated a short stroll from the Balboa Pier, Balboa Pavilion and surrounding boutiques and eateries. Visit Ruby's Diner for burgers and salads at the pier’s end, where fishermen ply their trade and dolphins frequently play. Walk the kids to the playground at the base of the pier with an open, grassy lawn for running around and playing games. Balboa Village offers dozens of dining options - Mint Leaf and Great Mex are casual local hangouts, BJs Pizza and Cruisers are known for pizza. Both Newport Landing and Harborside Restaurants have terrific fresh fish and beautiful bay views from their dining rooms, and the Saloon at Harborside in the historic Balboa Pavilion has happy hour 11-7 every day!
Catch the ferry to Balboa Island via bicycle or on foot to stroll among coastal-chic shops and cafes. Deep sea fishing and whale watching excursions can be booked through Davey’s Locker at the Pavilion.
Stay awhile, there’s plenty to do in Balboa!
