Anthony at the front desk was patient and polite whereas he could have easily become overwhelmed with two proms and a Hampton graduation bringing the busy!!! He was super awesome. Our view from our room was Peaceful you can't go wrong booking this hotel.

Discrepancy about paid breakfast. When I called the front desk prior to booking, the receptionist said the paid breakfast included the restaurant for sit down meal from 6-10 am. What we got instead was a choice of coffee, muffins and croissants because they “were slow” and there was “no chef present.” Food and coffee were delicious though. Just wished we would have known ahead of paying for breakfast.

I stayed there 5 days and 4 nites and only received room service 1 day. The housekeeper gave me new towels but never took the old towels away as they were by the door and wet they caused a stench in the room.

WORST HOTEL EVER

Worst hotel experience I've ever had and I would NEVER stay there again. I asked prior to booking if they could accomodate oversized vehicles as my truck is 7'2" and was told that wasn't an issue. The parking garage (ONLY parking they have) will only fit 6'7". The only space I could find was 14 blocks from the hotel. There was a rap concert going on in the park across the street in a heavy crime area and I had to walk with (2) 12 year old girls 14 blocks in the dark to the hotel. NO security in the hotel and overnight 25 cars were broke into in the parking garage. NO food available after 10am and not even a coffee bar for guest. Hotel was dirty and all the interior work was half ass.

Lobby area and location were beautiful. Front desk staff were wonderful. As for the room….very worn. Bathroom leaking from the floor above and wasn’t very clean. 12 vehicles were burglarized in the parking lot overnight. Also a large pool party the day we arrived which made getting up and down the elevator very difficult. Would not stay there again! Such a shame

Loud a/c system makes it impossible to sleep.

The a/c system is very problematic. When the a/c comes on it makes a very loud sound which wakes you up everytime it comes on. The compressor runs very loudly until the unit cuts off. When it kicks back on, you have another very loud constant noise. This happened all night long making it impossible to sleep.

The remodeling to the hotel is done very poorly. My room smelled horrid of mold, the ac sounded like it was going to fall out of the wall, not the cleanest as crumbs/dirt in corners. The bed was very uncomfortable. I never write reviews but felt obligated to this time.

This is my second time staying at The Landing. I always have such a great stay and will be returning for the third time in May for my daughter's graduation. The staff is amazing. Ant and LaMonica at the front desk went above and beyond. They, along with the rest of the staff, greet you will smiles and are so helpful. They along are the main reason we like staying here. The rooms are clean, quiet and they also have a bar/lounge. Plus, The Landing is conveniently located near Hampton University. It is also located by the marina and provides a beautiful view. The NASA Langley Air & Space Museum is also walking distance along with a number of small businesses. I highly recommend staying here.

The property itself is a little outdated. Also we had a roach in our room. The hotel staff however was amazing! They were attentive and accommodating. Both the day and night managers were fantastic. I will give this property another chance because of the great service.

Very beautiful hotel. We had a water view room. Was amazing. Waking up to that ocean view is unmatched. Next time I am in the area this will be my 1st choice!

Overall, was not a great stay. The whole breakfast situation was very strange, and none of the workers seemed to know anything about breakfast for hotel guests (there was some sort of conference there at the time, whom all got a breafkast buffet). We were exhausted from the extremely loud slamming of EVERY door on our floor all night, and didnt make it to breakfast in time two mornings. So, that was a waste of money. The shower smelled of mold and the water pressure was awful. We passed a worker on our way out of the elevator saying, "f*** this s***, I'm going on break". Lovely. The fridge never got cold enough, and we had to throw away some of our food. The positive things were the bed was very comfy, and we liked the location. But we will not be returning.
