Staff was very nice and helpful but actual castle can use some TLC. It was very quiet for me where I felt little scared in the building. Breakfast was good though. Light in the rooms are on sensor I believe and whole night they kept coming off which scared me even more. I kept TV on all night to distract ourselves.

Property was great. Room was pleasant. Service was fantastic. The only real drawback is the distance from the city (e.g., for alternative restaurants, etc.), but that all depends on what you're looking for.

Great one night stay

We stay here just for one night and wanted something out of the city of Aalborg (off the beaten path) for our last night in DK. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, just small and really didn't have much time to experience the hotel or area.

Gamle men chamerende værelser. Kigger man på detaljer som fugning, ledninger som er trukket uden på væggen, finish på maling, tæthed af fugning på badeværelses gulv osv så kan man se det er en historisk gammel bygning. Men alt det funktionelle er meget fint (gode senge, puder, sengetøj, det trækker ikke med kold luft, god bruser mm) Jeg boede på værelse 14 som ligger på 1.sal over receptionen. Morgenmaden var virkelig god. Hjemmelavet musli, spegepølse, rullepølse, friskkogte æg efter ønske. Røræg og bacon, pandekager, super gode hjemmebagte boller osv.

Check-in var nemt. Jeg var på tur med min gamle mor og vi havde det skønneste ophold på Restrup slotshotel. Desværre var der MEGET koldt på værelset da vi ankom men ejeren var tilstede og løste det straks ved at give os et andet (og bedre) værelse. Hun var SÅ sød og hjælpsom. Derfra var alt bare helt perfekt. Personalet var simpelthen så søde og oldfruen gjorde alt for at få os til at føle os godt tilpasse. Hun fortalte om stedet og dets historie og tilbød personlig rundvisning. Det var et virkelig skønt ophold og vi kører gerne langt for at komme igen. Morgenmaden bestod at hjemmelavet brød og pålæg og en masse lækkerier og var ovenud fantastisk 😊 TAK for det skønneste ophold jeg nogensinde kan huske vi har haft.

It is a nice hotel - old of course - but rustic and really nice if you like old castle vibes. Some "old" smell in our room and bathrooms could need some upgrade. Excellent food and very nice and friendly personnel. However very hard to reach the hotel by phone. Online booking of restaurant reservation worked however just fine. Surroundings are very nice.
