Rooms were very clean. Staff at the Barcelo are exceptionally nice. The Royal restaurant on the 9th floor is definitely the best, especially their manger George. George is as professional as they come. Super nice, quick witted, and very particular in how he presents himself, and his dinner service is 2nd to NONE!….Nice job George. See you next year!

rooms are out dated and the food was salty. Could not get early reservations for dinner and the outside of the hotel needs a makeover. Staff was friendly and kind at all times.

The room was very clean, could have used more towels. The staff at each restaurant was exceptional. I have a seafood allergy and they took extra care and I never felt at risk. The food was very good as well. The grounds were well kept and clean.Better management of beach chairs too many people saving chairs and not using them for hours while we didn’t have any. Overall great week and we will be back!

Property was clean, casino and lobby bar lively and great staff. Housekeeping was ok. Never had beach service except for the chair services. Front desk was overwhelmed after the airport shutdown because it was not an easy check in to get clean rooms.

We had an amazing family holiday escape at the Barcelona. Immaculate attention to details, attentive and caring staff with pride displayed within every interaction. Restaurant reservations are needed but appreciated during peak Christmas/new year week as it’s virtually impossible to get a reservation or table offsite for 6! Bar staff is amazing —welcoming with wonderful entertainment and quality drinks! Only suggestion… a deli sandwich/salad bar during the day. Light fare, grab and go beach lunch boxes would be amazing upgrade! Otherwise wonderful stay and we look forward to staying again—- you can’t beat the location!

Desk staff was rude at check in. Was told the room would be ready at 4pm. Came back at 4:22pm, the room was not ready and I was asked to wait for an undetermined amount of time. All other people in our travel group proceeded to get their rooms. By 5:05 no one informed me of any update so I had to ask again. The room took another 10 minutes. After walking halfway across the hotel to what looked like a jail hallway of rooms, my key did not work. Once access to the room was sorted, there was hair all over the bathroom, sand on the floor and left over items in the garbage. The safe also did not work. The facilities generally speaking leave much to be desired and unless you’re trying to diet, the food is below edible standards. There are no chairs at the pool or beach left by 8am and drinks are sub par at best.

Clean room, great people, just had a bad experience with the food. The buffet were the same thing everyday. Nothing different we were there. The best restaurant we liked was the hibachi very good and fun!

The food was not that good. The buffets lacked changing of foods and quality. The waiters were very slow to return to see if you needed a drink. The only place that was good was the Hibachi place. The rest were not that good. The rib eye was good. The entertainment at the pool was a joke. Every once in a while they would connect a phone and play music. Not even island music. No entertainment. The drinks were watered down. Nightlife is really boring. 2nd time here and this will be the last.

Pool was cloudy and falling apart tiles missing everywhere floors in room were constantly sandy nobody swept when they cleaned the room. Despite numerous attempts could not get a face cloth from the staff, ice machine on second floor didn’t work the whole time we were there. This was my sixth time at the Barceló and unfortunately probably my last.

Room was outdated. Check in process took an hour. They initially give us a room with a rolling bed. We had to argue to get 2 beds. Shower was not clean. Had hair beads and hair ties in it from previous guest. No towels first night. Lights in room didnt work. Was suppose to have complimentary reservations for dinner at the royal restaurant promised by desk staff. That was not the case. For the price we paid for thia trip, it was not worth it. Will not be back at this resort

The beach at Barcelo is amazing!! It has tons of chairs and palm trees. The sand is nice and you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool and grounds are beautiful and well kept. However, the rooms are very dated. The beds are pretty hard, the air conditioning is super loud and they won’t let you turn it off and when we asked them to turn it down, they didn’t do it. The door to the balcony rattled because it didn’t seal. The shower in the bathroom was amazing. The buffet is ok but the dinners at the restaurants in the resort are fabulous!! The drinks were ok. I’m sure they use cheap liquor and they pour them strong. I would recommend Barcelo and I would definitely stay here again.

The Barcelo Aruba is ok! The staff, wonderful and accommodating. The food was a solid 3. There were portions of the buffet that were inedible. The chicken for one. The all-inclusive part isn’t really worth it because you’ll end up eating out a lot. The hotel sent me a preference sheet prior to check in which I returned promptly. Upon arrival I was told none of the preferences could be accommodated. Why send the sheet if you can’t accommodate? There were other guest in line with me with the same issue and the staff at check in were not interested in answering why our preferences could not be met. I think there are better options on the island for the same amount of money. The good news is there was enough beach seating each day and the staff worked hard to help find seats. I would look at all options before thinking Barcelo is a good option.
